newbie question!!!!!

whats up people. im a newbie with this whole growing thing but i've wanted to grow for the last 10 years and im now in the situation where i can do it. so my question is i'm slowly buying things to start up my operation, but im confused. i am using an average size bedroom as a grow room to grow for my personal use (maybe sell acouple oz's to help pay rent) im going to grow 4-6 plants. but i dont know how much wattage i should use. im thinking about buying a hps light. any suggestions?? also i dont know if i should go the hydroponics route or use regular soil. any difference's? what produces bigger potant bud? i want to be discrete about it, so will growing 4-6 plants cause any unwanted attention from the landlord or raise suspicion? my last question is if grown properly how much would i yeild (ball park figure) my budget is roughly $500, think thats enough?...please help!

Dang you got a whole bedroom should be able to hold way more numerous plants than you mention. See my post on the place to buy lights. If you can beat it go buy some. I like the hempy bucket method..sorta like soil but not quite..actually its supposedly hydroponic. Plug hempy bucket into the search engine on here and you should get about a thousand hits on how to do it.

depenting on straian and amount of plants ..
you need 1-400 m h and 1- 400
hps and a flo
cant comment on yeild too many variables
i would suggest soil cheaper and easeier
