im a newb and i cant stand payin for pot so i just got into a house with a basement and im tryin to look into growin not alot but enuff for me not to have to buy it thanks

Good plan!

Start with "Newbie Central" and read the "stickys" at the top of each forum, armed with that knowledge you can figure out what type of grow works best for you and you'll be able to ask specific questions.

get some soil, get some 3-5 gallon buckets..get some seeds put em in get some lights and bam!

Ready to smoke! It's THAT simple!

Seriously though, newbie central helped me a ton!

Third on Newbie Central. Also folks on this site are real helpful. If you run into problems just take pics and post and you will get alot of support.
