New to Hydro

Sup guys. I've been growing in soil for 10+ years and decieded to try hydro. I am building an Aero/Nft system out of pvc pipe. Have just completed the cloner. Everything seems to be running well (after fixing a few leaks). water ph was 7.7 so i added some ph down and will check it in the morning. Hope to take clones 2moro. I want to give a special thanks to StinkBud and Earl. Without them sharing thier knowledge, I would not have even tried this. THANKS guys. Any suggestions are welcome. Peace.

nice set up man. can u plz explain how it works though. are there misters?
yes there is a spray jet at each plant site. a pump on a cycle timer pumps water out of rez through a 1/2" pvc pipe which branches out to the 1/4" tubing. the tubing goes through a 6mm grommet into the 4" pvc pipe. then a spray jet is inserted into the end of the tubing. the grommets r removeable for easy access to the sprayers. Its a cool setup and fairly simple. I've read great things about these aero/nft system. hopefully i get the same results.

Thanks man! Are you rooting the cuttings right in there? If so, do you need an aquarium heater to keep the water warm? I usually do ebb and flow so this is all new to me. Thanks

im just a beginer at this but from what ive read water temp can be anywhere from 50-80deg. optimal being right around 70deg. mine is 64 and the cuttings look gr8. some people do use chillers but never read about any heaters. the warmer the water is the better chance of diseases. if u run ur pump 24/7 it will heat the water up, but like i said most people want to cool it down not heat it up. correct me if im rong here guys. peace

I suggest starting with a lite nute load and then slowly build up the ppm.

thanks orzz. i added enough nutes to get the ppm up to 200. ph 5.8 water temp. 68
Sounds like u got it dialed in.
I started mine on 12/12 yesterday. They are drinking about 5 gallons a day. I also upped my ppm to 1240. Will have to see how they handle the load. In veg they were up to 1300 ppm.
