New to growing; question about space requirement.

Hi, first post really cool site.

I have a room that is 9' by 12' with a 10' ceiling. I can legally have 12 plants. Is this enough room to grow 6 adult plants and 6 juviniles at one time?

All of this floorspace can be used for the plants, I can keep supplies in another room. Would be growing in soil.

Any thoughts would be apreciated.

So im assuming this is perpetual grow and dividing the room into veg and flowering. How long are you vegging for?

It will be enough for a new grower.

However if you LST, supercrop, extend veg, and basically grow the fuck out of the plants I don't think they'd fit.

Plenty of space but why would you want to grow 6 clones while flowering? I take it you're from a med state and can get clones easily? You could do just one mother and then 6 plants at a time but most starters I know want to try different strains every new harvest and just buy 6 clones every 3 month, much less hassle than splitting up the room Now, 6 plants can be grown with 1 light or 6 It depends how big you want to grow them and how much wattage you want to use. Give us some details for better help.

Thanks for the quick response, as far as veggie state, I don't know, that is yet to be decided. I am just now starting to do my research, and the first I want to know if this space can accomodate the legal limits of what I can do. Sounds like it can, with limits.
If I did want to grow the fuck out of the plants, I assume I could fit 6 mature plants in this room, I could always use an adjacent closet that is maybe 3' by 8' to get the next round of 6 growing. I just want to be sure I've got stuff coming of age every 3 months or so.
I will post more info on what I want to do as that gets decided and ask more questions as apropriate. keep the responses coming, you guys are an awesome resource.

Lights are my next question, I have experience with friends growing with 1000w HPS bulbs, seems like a lot of light. would 4 of these light up a room this size well enough to grow the fuck out of 6 plants?

4 would definitely be enough, could grow with just 2 if you had too.

yes, you could grow 6 MONSTERS wit 4K light, not sure if I can recommend that for a 1st time grower, though. With 2x 1K for 6 plants you would still have space to move, etc. and they would still be huge plants. Just shrink the room with poly which you'll need anyway. Easily expanded to 4 lights after you gain some experience. I've seen too many people start too big and then abandon it cause of too many variables with a giant grow.
