Hi all, this is my first post and first grow. It is a bit long b/c I have a bunch of problems and would appreciate if you helped me out. Ive recently set up my whole system and I have the DR40 grow tent which is 1'4''x 1'4''x 4'. I bought a 100watt HPS streetlight from ebay for $40 (9000 lumens). Ive got CFL lights and I have enough space so that 4 of them can be on at a time. Two 42 watters and one 23 watter @ 2700k (6800 lumens) and one 23 watt daylight spectrum (1600 lumens). I have about 17400 lumes total in a 1sq ft space. I am growing lowryder and they're still babies right now.

I have a few problems;
1) The tent's LxW dimensions are extremely small so Ive got to cram the lights in. Ive got it all to fit, but heats a HUGE issue because for some reason unknown to man, it has 100% radiant heat retention meaning it doesn't let the heat OUT. Ive got a 7200 BTU portable AC blowing at it which keeps it within acceptable temps, but obviously I cant have my stealth tent's door open all the time with the lights blasted. I bought that stupid 250 cfm booster fan from HTG supply b/c it was cheap, but afterwards I learned its only supposed to boost already moving air. So my question is, will a real 4'' centrifugical fan be able to cool my tent with passive intakes? I can still blow the AC towards my closet door and crack it open a bit.

2) Do I really need all this light? I know its not necessary for my current seedlings, but when they are mature, do they need it? I am growing Lowryder 2. For those who might not know, this strain supposedly grows to 1 ft and stops. But Ive seen some on youtube and its worrying me b/c the videos show some 2ft giants. The pots are 1 inch away from each other, but ill train them later and pull the stems to the sides of the bucket. Lastly, is the 100 watt hps light efficient from 1 ft away or is it just a heat contributor. When the plants mature, ill keep it around 6'' away, but for now its too much heat. And its got some white coating on the bulb, dont know if it does anything.

Criticize, advise, or flame me. Just give me something constructive. Thanks.

The 100 watt light will be fine in it.And all you need is like a 80cfm fan.I have the dr60 with a 275 watt MH/HPS light with a s&p td100x fan.My temps stay at 80 degrees.
