Ok, so I've got cfl's out the ass around here and as a result my first thought was to go with a plain cfl grow and see if I could find a way to get a good harvest from a smallish space without specialty lights. Then I started looking around on the intarwebs and found these:

That got me to thinking, what if I picked up two of those and a 150w MH version as well and put them into about a 4-9 ft2 grow space with 2100k cfl's (probably 4 or so) poking through the lower wall of my box to help more light reach the interior, base, and sides of the plant (they'd be horizontal too which is a plus since I'd be drilling socket holes through the sides of the box).
How much of a benefit would I see from switching to these from cfl's (and how many cfl's would I need to match the HID's?) and am I correct in assuming that the base size being "medium" rather than "mogul" or something else on those bulbs means they can run off a standard light socket?
