New Sprout

Just found a sprout in the onions in the vegetable garden.
The only thing i could do is pull it out with all the dirt around it and put it in a cup for indoor growing.
It's 3 inches tall and looks healthy but i'm afraid it will die from the shock.
Can someone help on this?
Nutes or not?
The roots are as long as the sprout.
Probably California Orange.
I hate to lose any of my babies even if it is a bastard.

Just keep it indoor under proper light
Its sounds as tho it is stretched a lot
might not be worth it

If you got all the dirt around the root, you'll be ok....don't give nutes till It's got a couple of sets of leaves....3 - 4.......I've already transplanted my sprouts from straight pro-mix
(easy for rooting) and put them in a soil + pro-mix mix......they're happy little suckers now........today is 7 days & I'm on my 2nd + set of leaves.......................YA !!!

Ok, i put lots of light on it and a little water and it's grown more leaves and a little taller.
Thanx, now i'm a grower, whaddaya know.

High strickly how you doing?
The first problem your likly to run in to is the PH of your water. I sugest a cheap aquarium test kit or a meter. This was my first problem. When I got the PH right I really saw a lot of grewth! Good luck and have fun.
PS Don't tell anybody your growing at all.
