New smoker questions

Hello everyone, I'm new to this site and new to smoking daily. I went off all my meds about 3 months ago after 18+ years for deg disk disease and for the most part feel a whole hell of a lot better. My problem is the constant coughing since starting. And yes I am aware that it is an obvious side effect from starting smoking at 45 but I still prefer it to all the meds I was on. Other than a few times in high school I am completely clueless to all this. I can't roll cuz of nerve damage so I need to smoke from some sort of bowl or pipe. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Look into extracts and tinctures. Oral ingestion is a slower onset but is effective much longer than smoke. Then consider a good vape like the Storz Mighty.

Hello ALF0921, welcome to RIU.

I would suggest looking for something with water filtration after the smoke chamber, water catches a lot of those nasty hydrocarbons and other irritants that can make the smoke more harsh. (I favor a smaller bubbler type of water pipe, over a larger bong personally).

They very best way to go is with a vaporizer with a water chamber attachment, or modify your own vaporizer to work with some type of water chamber, this will filter out a lot of the irritants and dust that can make it through a typical pipe or vape.

Or you can make edibles 250-300 degrees for about 60-90mins into whatever you are cooking will activate the THC and other cannobinoids, just takes about 1hour - 1 1/2hrs to kick in and will peak in their medicative properties after about 3- 3 1/2hrs, but typically provide about 4hours of relief over all, so edibles are a good way to medicate for a while during the day or evening, it's a great way to bypass the lungs as the only means of Cannabis administration.

They also make sublingual forms of Medical Cannabis that can be taken, but they are $$$ and probably not quite as effective as consuming the full flower extract in an edible or vaping flower extract whole, you'll want the full spectrum extract of what ever your getting, not the shatter or pure THC stuff, it can be quite potent for new people's and can even be dangerous in the wrong hands, so use caution while making any purchases if you go this route.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'll be glad to help where I'm able, take care friend/s.

I agree with Hotrod. S & B Mighty is Best vape around. Been smoking a pipe for years and thought I never switch to vaping, until Father Christmas brought me a Mighty last year. Now my pipe is retired and I only vape (the effect is better too and u can vary the temps to change the effect it has). You can safely walk down the highstreet without everyone turning their heads...
