Hi all
I am currently in the process of creating my new indoor setup.
I have decided that I will be using 400W MH for the vegetative cycle and 400W HPSV for Flowering. I will also add some 23W CFL's on the sides as required to ensure all parts of my plant recieve proper light.
Now I have been looking around in my city to see whats available for MH and HPSV Lights. The options available to me have sort of confused me, so any help will be appreciated.
The MH and HPSV Lamps are available in both opalized ovoid and clear tubular shaped outer bulbs...see pic below. Please tell me which ones should I go for?

2. Second of all, I am not able to (yet) find a open reflective hood like the one I have seen in other people's setup or with kits being sold on ebay.. What I am able to find is a Flood Light Fitting kind of a case with an in built ballast ...something like in the pic below
