so after shipping everything will be about $580 from growlightexpress. anyone see anything where I can save some extra money maybe by getting one of these elsewhere? or anyone even have a discount code for this site? :)

I'm pretty fixed on getting these 3 items from here so just really checking out my options.... thanks!

i was scared to buy my eletronic ballast online because i heard to many horror stories about people getting their ballast and it crapping out on them 3 months down the road, and i also heard that lumateks haev a hard time firing the eye hortilux bulbs, they say the bulb has a weird flicker and a odd sound like something moving around inside it.

alot of people reported that it killed there hortilux bulb after about 5 months use

so instead of buying the lumatek i went out and bought the

sun system harvest pro elite ballast

it was the best one i could find on the market even though it is a core and coil ballast

its not that loud of a hum, i have inline fans that are louder than it

and the best part is it doesnt give off ne RF interferance which i heard is also a dead giveaway in this day and age of digital tv's

cops could drive by the house and get white noise on there radios

they know about it now

I'm sorry but getting a magnetic ballast these days is really not the way to go unless you just cannot afford an electronic one. They are louder, create more heat, produce less lumens. Also those issues you speak of are on the older lumatek ballast that were not RF shielded, something that is standard now. As for prices, you could get a system equivalent to the one your looking at for about 450$ new on ebay, or a sealed good + Ballast/bulb for about 550$ total. Just ebay Lumatek and look around.

wow +rep for that.. I am so glad to hear someone say that.. I was using a 600W digi ballast and the RF interference from it caused all the cable modems to go offline within a 2 mile radius around my home.. The cable company came TO MY HOME at 1:00 AM and told my "You have something in your home causing RF interference on the cable lines and causing all the cable modems in a 2 mile area to go offline".. He then told me he had to disable some sort of line at the back of my home until someone cou ld get out here and check inside the home"

And that is no bullshit.

Yeah, its no bullshit on a none Lumatek or an older model Lumatek. It's Bullshit on the ballast the OP is looking at though. Way to help spread shit though, smells hard to wash off.

Which again, has what to do with the questions asked in this thread? If this guy wants to spread his "information" he needs to do it in a correct place and in a none misleading way. Instead though he does it in the wrong place, in a very misleading way, and you guys come along and +rep him like hes correct. Which would of completely thrown the OP off with false information.

lol you lost me.. Misleading? I dont know what your talking about.. None of the statements in this thread were misleading..The RF issue is still happening.. Digi ballasts also can cause certain ( agromax ?) bulbs to blow ..The one I had blew 5 bulbs within 30 days.. I still think magnetic ballasts are the way to go for now. Just my 2c

I get that, but a Lumatek like the OP is looking at won't produce RF more then 10 feet away in an open room. Far less through his house walls. And all models below 1000W produce virtually no RF. Then again I'm pretty high and didn't even really remember what he said so whatever. Rather then going magnetic though two 600W units would produce no RF and be about 35% more efficient then a 1000W magnetic.(Maybe more considering it's electronic not magnetic, lumatek which claims 99%pf, and 600watt rather then 1000w) which is a very large amount and with those reflectors could be had for same price. But still he should of said, a 1000Watt produces some RF which could interfere with devices in the same room as the ballast, while a lower wattage unit should be unnoticeable RF wise. Not, oh the cops will detect you if you run this so instead go get a magnetic ballast and waist 1/3 your light.
