New meter, could use some help....

So I got a bluelab truncheon meter, the stick one in the mail... couldnt get it to work... tried with new batttzzzzz.. nothing, then I sent it back... got the new one a day ago and I cant get this one to work haha... so idk if its just me or am I having extreme bad luck with my hardware????. helllllpppppp !!!

I just wanna start using this thinnnnnnggggs, my friend has the same one that i was using for a while but he needed it back.... what am i doing wrong here... ive followed the directions..... idk Heellllpppp ... when i was using my buddies it was contact in liquid that set it off but no matter how long or how short of a time i leave it in it doesnt turn on.....
If you can help me get this thing workin ill trim all of your next crop for you haha... thanks for whatever help rollitup can offer!

I have issues with mine every so often. I hardly ever use it because I haven't setup a hydro table. I kept swirling it in the water, tapping it, etc, and it finally came on for me. Don't know what else to say.
