New Grower - CFL Setup

Hi, how's it going?

I'm new to the community, and I'm a new grower in general, so all help is appreciated. I'm going to be growing one GDP plant for the first grow to see how it works out, I'm ordering five seeds but for the first grow I honestly only feel confident growing one plant.

Here is what I got going for me as far as size goes. I'm confined in a 3.5x2.5x2 cabinet in my closet. Height can always be adjusted higher in the space.

Here is what I'm thinking as far as lighting goes.
5 lights total:
5 2700k (23watt)
1 6500k (42watt)

This is going to be my setup for the whole plants life (vegging, and flowering).

I'm going to have 3 computer fans connected to the grow box, 1 intake, 2 exhaust. The intake is going to be going over the top of the canopy. One exhaust on the bottom of the box, and one on top. Considering heat does travel upwards.

Please give me your 2 cents!

build it and test it.. sounds like it will work if you want to go the cfl route.
I'm planning on it! I'm going to have to go the cfl route, because of the limited space, electricity issues, and heat issues.

Is that one 6500k bulb going to be enough? I'm going to put them on two Y connectors.

yep those are good
go check out my grow at my sig, that way youll know what NOT to do lol
Those plants don't look too healthy. I'm in Southern California as well. Do you know a hydro store where I can buy some bulbs and such? Just curious since we are in the same general area.

yeah i perfer to run a more spectrum light...6500k 5500k and 4500k's for veg. I work at a nursery so i get to play with alot of different plants. those cfls will be a nice stem grower.. as to where the blue or 6500k will grow leaf material.. you get the idea.

Yeah. I'm not going to be vegging for too long. I'm going to flower for a good amount of time.

I'm still looking for recommendations on a seed? Looking for something that doesn't get very big, height wise. I'm also looking for something that is a good downer smoke, and that yields a good amount. I'm looking for around 1-2 ounces a plant.

cheapest place is walmart to buy the lights.

they have 42 watt softwhite.

if you want to get a 42 watt daylight bulb, you're gonna have to dig deeper. there's specialty lighting stores that carry them.

now, for the OP. the cheapest alternative you can find is going to walmart, and purchasing 4 packs of soft white bulbs, and 4 packs of daylight bulbs.

the 23 watt Softwhite 4-pack costs like 6 bucks. the daylight bulbs are more expensive, it costs like 8 bucks for a 4 pack. you can't beat that.

the lower the wattage on CFL's the more lumens/watt ratio. so more bulbs, of smaller wattage, is actually the more efficient route in terms of energy. in terms of a pain in the ass to be moving and accomodating and shit, yeah, it's a pain in the ass.

remember, keep em 1 or two inches max away from the foliage...

So just to clarify, getting more small wattage lights is better energy usage then having a few high wattage lights?

Also, the biggest issue i'm having a hard time deciding on is how to structure the lights? I can't find a decent light fixture, and I don't have room for too many reflectors? I don't know which sockets would benefit me the most with 23 watt's. I'm looking for something with a cord, if someone has any incite on that or any links I would really appreciate it.
