New grow tent, exhaust and intake, need recommendations on brand

I am going to be getting a new tent, the one I have was bought used (lesson learned). I went cheap on the ventilation setup and will be replacing that as well. I want to add an intake since the room is closed 90% of the time. I will be putting this in my office, east-facing, and upstairs. I can exhaust into my attic but intake will be from the room itself. I will have 2 or 3 1000w lights running. I have looked at AC Infinity, Vivosun, and Spider Farm.

My questions are what is the better 8x4 grow tent?

What is the required CFM of the exhaust and intake?

Currently using a 6x6 in an 11x13 room the window area is basically just dead space. Venting from tent through closet and out. Hardwood floor, the house stays between 74 and 78 degrees during summer and winter. The room does get to about 83ish and unfortunately, I have to keep the door closed. The humidity is about 30%. The room does get direct sunlight from mid-day to sunset(4-7 I think I'll track it tomorrow). computer doesn't create much heat. Airflow is pretty bad when closed. I live near a freeway so dust/dirt are going to be a factor.
If I have left anything out please let me know and I'll update accordingly.

AC Infinity makes the best tents for the buck. For a 8X4 I would consider a 8" In line fan by AC Infinity. A 6" could pull the weight but with a 8" you won't work your fan as hard and have the option to if needed (High humidity or temps for example)

Will I require an intake and exhaust in this case? I have my amazon cart with AC Infinity items now.

I use my ac infinity inline fan as an exhaust and leave a hole in the tent open as in intake. Exchanging the air from the room into your tent should suffice.
I can't see your cart

A 4x8x7 = 224sqft Maybe 2x 450-650cfm fans (one on each end.)

edit: shouldn’t need as much blowing power on intake if using it. A 6” should do. (If going with powered intake) opening vents works pretty well too.

My apologies, I haven't shared it but will now.

I am currently leaving a few venting panels open and it just feels like it's not enough. The office does get warm.

You can anticipate the tent to be 6-15 degrees warmer in flower with a more lightning. Have you though about a portable a/c?

Think twice about exhausting into the attic. Depending on the airflow and if you have attic fans installed or not it can cause nightmare scenarios for mold. Ask around on the grow room build thread about the best way to handle it if you are going that way. I know people do it but it has to be done properly or else things can go bad quickly with very humid air in a poorly ventilated and often dark space.

Could that have anything to do with my temperatures fluctuating so much noticed an almost 20-degree variance from 3-7 pm today

Never thought of that. I vent into my attic for my exhaust and portable a/c. I do run the duct directly to a vent at the roof line.

That one I'm not sure of. I'd have to get an idea of the whole setup. My tent exists kind of at one with us in the house. The intake is ambient room air drawn in at the bottom of the tent from two of the flaps. I run a 25' section of 6" exhaust hose from my infinity exhaust fan down the hall and just let it exhaust into our living room. The extra humidity is absorbed fine by the large space and actually is needed during most of the year. I keep the house warm though by most people's standards so that the environment is perfect for the tents. My ambient air temperature stays about 75-76 year round so that the tent stays around 82-83. I can run AC in the room for the tent and drop temps if needed and I have both a humidifier and a large dehumidifier to control humidity. Most people need more stealth than I do so post up how your area works and we'll see how we can stabilize it hopefully. You don't want any big swings in temps or humidity if you can help it.

I know some guys put it into the chimney to avoid problems too. That's why I suggested they check over in the build thread. There's already a couple threads to search if I remember. Damn old age:bigjoint:

Where I am venting too isn't quite an attic but more just the space of 10x10 with a vent. I'll post a few pics so it makes more sense. I can just as easily vent out a window just need to switch the exhaust from the left side to the right.

I am working on getting the exact setup information into my first post now. Thank you for the information so far.

But when you are extracting air up top at a decent rate, the air will flow nicely in thru those ports on the bottom into the tent. Venting your air out/and or sucking intake air from outside can do a lot of justice when it comes to controlling temps.

I have moved away from the notion of an intake as a must-have. I gather a good exhaust is better than a decent in and out.

I think if I was going to do a tent that sized with an 8" fan I'd go with venting outdoors. You're going to be moving a crap load of air and with the door closed it's going to have no place to go. I'd rig up a dryer vent cover looking deal or gut a broken AC unit to make it look stealthy and put a good filter on the end to ensure no super critters can get upstream during a power outage. Then just tend to any light leak issues if that's a concern and all the hot air is going out of the room. I'd be concerned about the 30% humidity though. You'll need a decent sized humidifier to bring that up to an acceptable range for the room. I have a medium sized one just outside my passive intake and it can increase ambient humidity about 15-20% at best. That's for a 4*4. Trying to humidify a much larger tent will take a decent sized unit or multiple small units at each intake. You're looking for 55-65% humidity in veg, even higher with babies, so 30% is going to be tough.
