New Grow Room

OK, after looking through endless threads, I'm now in a constant cycle of feeling I have it grasped only to feel more confused than before. I'm hoping that laying out exactly what I have will allow others to lend their/your expertise.

I have:
1 12x12 room w/ a 3x9 closet with sliding doors
1 400w HPS lamp

I'm willing to buy new lights too.
I've been looking at getting 1 1000w switchable ballast lamp that could be both MH and HPS.
I've also been looking at the Aeroflo 36 (aeroponics)and keeping clones and mothers in the closet with flourescents.
Does this sound like a good setup? Are there better ideas with this space?
I've read quite a bit about SOG method and would this be better for the space?

I know this is vague but I'm starting from scratch. Any help is greatly appreciated.

are you utilizing the room and closet or justcloset?

closet should be for veg. put your 400 watt in there and start however many plants in small pots. aircool your light first. while their growing you can start buying your 1000w you dont need switchable or digital just get hps 1000w. buy a 6.5x6.5x6.5 tent for $200. this will contain the light so your not lighting the whole room, unless you want to fill the whole room with plants then you need like 3 1000w. after 6 or 8 weeks take them from veg, repot to 3 gal and put em in the tent and start new veg in the closet.

Yes, I'm using both. Is this the ideal situation for SOG or should I just let them go? Also, is the tent to use all possible light or for security or both? Thanks already for your input.

its so your using all the light on the plants and also it makes it easier to control the environment, you can vent into the main room from the tent rather then venting the main room outside or whatever.

sog just means sea of green so to get a sog you have alot of plants forming a level canopy.

u may mean scrog where you use a screen but you dont need that if you got this nice big room.
