Split the room in half, two 5x5 rooms. Use fluorescent or metal halide for Veg in one room and HPS in the other for flowering. Flowering room use a 400, 600 or 1000 watt HPS depending on your goals.

Carbon filters, I would look at the DIY part of this site. Pretty simple to make, pretty expensive to buy for some reason.

a 10 by 10 room doesn't 'split in half' to (2) 5 by 5's ... :D la9 must be tired !!! cuz i've seen you make sense before :D

10 by 10 only? if you have a 'long closet' use that for a clone/seed/vedge room, 3 or 4 shelvs and some 4 ft flourescents, 3 fixtures per shelf.

if you -only- have the 10 by 10 and ur trying to maximize space and continue to harvest (from clones) ... then you might try... partitioning it into a 3 by 10 space and a 7 by 10 space. 3x10 for clones/mothers on shelving and the 7 by 10 for your flower room. So if you had a 7 by 10 flower room you could illuminate that very well with (2) 1000w HPS lamps.

some peopel will say this isn't enough light or they will take ur square footage times the number of awesome watts you can use... but in actuallity ur gonna have a 1ft gap likely all around the flower room between walls and containers just so you can walk and water them... so the actual floor spaced used is only like 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 in a 7 by 10.... so (2) HPS 1000 would be plenty.

For that size of room i would check out the thread started by kpw555
his use of limited space seems to be working well
Good Luck and keep bongsmilie:leaf:
