New grow and grower

i just put my germinated seeds into a small pot (half cut soad bottle) just about how long wit it take for these to break the surfaceof the soil, im using a 100 watt cfl light buld as they are uder the surface as we speek ( is this bad before they brake the surface to use a light) they are watered 1nce morning 1nce night , and just because of make sure i dont get cought perposs i have the lights off from 7 am to 3 pm then the kick on till the next morning . im useing maircal grow potting soil ( i know some people say its bad but some say its ok so i went with it , any info thanx, i also have 4 more seeds germinating... also the box is ceep shut ex for maybe 1 or 2 times openiing a day

within a couple of days, leave the light on 27x7 or you'll have problems later

okay well you do not need the light on until you see a sprout.. how is light gonna help the soil?

second you can get by with miracle grow i guess but im sure your going to run into problems that u cant seem to figure out. your better off with a soilless mix but i will take into consideration u have already started so ill try to help u from there..

you dont need to water it much!
u should have cut drainage holes in the bottom of the soda bottle
then u go ahead and give the container/soil a good watering. leave it unwatered for a couple days ( the sprout's tap root will grow larger if it has to LOOK for the water instead of being force fed it)

but in future grows try to avoid planting seeds directly into soil.. if you germinate them u have a higher success rate and are able to determine which seeds have popped and which are non viable... in time u will become very familiar with these routines..

to germinate :

just take a paper towel, moisten it, put your seeds on it, seal it in a plastic ziploc bag (remove excess air)
then place that in a dark, warm place (on top of a refrigerator)
in a day or 2 u should see the begining of a root.. as soon as u see the root, take it and place it about half of an inch into your soil (poke a small hole with your finger) then cover it loosely with soil... this soil should have been watered before planting the seed ( do not water again until the top inch or so of the soil feels dry when u stick ur finger down into it..

so wait i cant just have them on 16 off 8.. cuz i think i have greater chances of getting cought by my parents if i leave them on all the time cuz u can see a little bt of the light shine trew my closet.. also is there away i can make sure they dont grow too bigg . becuase i got aout 6 seeds in some bud and 2 poped n are in n i think 3 more ar about to .is there away to make sure they dont get to big , becuase i dont kno the strain or anything

u can do 16/8. . its fine.. if u dont want them to get too big then just switch them to 12/12 when they are half as big as u want them to be.. ( the will double sometimes triple in size during flowering )//

as far as growing in your parents house.. not a good idea...
im assuming that your not a minor. if you are then i dont want to be helping u break the law

nope, im not a minor, but i still dont wish to let my parents know im growing in the house, i dont think the would be cool with that...... any more things i can while im waiting for these thing to grow, like that might be good for them

I'm using mG and it's just fine! don't believe everything you hear about it. It's not thebest, but there are worse things out there. Do NOT use any MG nute sticks or anything timed-release, though. Put your light on 18 on/6 off for vegging. No nutes or ferts for first 3 weeks, just water every 3-4 days!!
twice a day will drown them fast! keep a fan blowing on them to strengthen stems tyou didn;t put them ALL into the same bottle did you? they'll die. seperate them one per 16 oz. dark plastic (beer) cup with drainageholes in bottom.

is 1 100 watt cfl ok for 2 plants?..... im goin 2 put the rest in put 2 in each soad bottle... and thak you for the luck... oh and also what if i planted them a little close .. i dont remember how close i put 2 of them but once they sprout can i and how can i move them farther apart if they are in the same contaner

ok each plant NEEDS its own pot, second, is your light a 100w equivalent cfl? or actual 100w, if its the 23w = 100w watt then you need a lot more, DONT GO BY EQUIVALENTS!!!!! you need like 50w per plant(the more the better). if you are afraid of ur parents then look up stealth grows. and try looking through the FAQ or newbie section, they help a lot

im not trying to start a fight but growing marijuana is illegal for everyone not just minors.

well now its been about 2 days with the germinated seeds in the pot ... (i do leave the light on some times even tho i dont need to is this bad?)... now im just waiting for them to brak the surface of the soil.. im also going to water once ever 2 days... does that sound good?

lol.. i know.. but contributing to the delinquency of a minor is also against the law// i wouldnt want to be breakin the law would i ?

yeah once every two days if they need it ( just check the soil with your finger)

just checked plants 1 poped up from soil... altho the whole plant is like white is that normal,, i now hav the light on i will be trying to keep it on as much asposibal, but i might have to go with 16 on 8 off, thanx

its all white because its still sprouting.. it should open up its cotyledons by tomorrow morning..

then the leaves ( cotyledons ) will be green and the stalk will be white for a while.. like a week or 2 before its nice and green

mike you do realize that if bad karma came your way and you were in a situation where the authorities found out about your grow that everyone in the house (your parents) can and likely will be charged with Manufacturing a controlled substance. I love that you want to grow weed but you have to be accountable for who it affects, you may be fine with the consequences personally but you do know a felony will stay with you and your parents if charged for the rest of your life I can list jobs all day long that wont hire felons...

will it be ok to have a 100 watt cfl like 2 inchs from it or will it burn it?
