New age L.E.D Setup/Grow room

I have a question about a new age grow. Please dont flame me with LED's dont work bla bla and crap like that. I have seen LEDS grow amazing plants in VEG and produce great Flowers. I have nothing against HID except the energy i am trying to save. I am purchasing either (2) 120W L.E.D Triband's from HTGsupply or, (1) 120W LED Triband and (1) 300W LED Triband From HTG aswell. If i wanted to do an all LED grow which would be the best way to go. I will most likely grow in a 4ft by 4ft by 7ft tent. I will buy Highpowered LED panels.. One RED one BLUE.. Red to boost Flower and Blue to make Clone/Seed.

Should i do the setup like this or ... Should i buy Two 120W Triband LED'S and one 150W HPS and throw them in the tent... I could place the LED's to face on an angle and place the HPS directly on top. I believe this setup, either the full LED or the LED/HPS hybrid will product crazy buds in a 4x4x7 tent. It will be a Ebb and Gro 12 site setup.. i dont think 12 sites will fit but i can always expand.

What do you guys think? Am i crazy? If i do go FULL LED i will be useing about 420W's of LED + a 50W RED booster.. that is 470W's of Triband LED.. that might be the biggest LED grow around. We will see, i am slowly ordering the peices:evil:

I would go with the all LED setup. I would drop the hps and use the money to get a higher wattage LED.

Go with the TI Smartlamp 600, if you're going to spend that kind of money. You could also go with a few procyons. But it would be extremely dumb of you to buy those triband leds at htgsupply.

Why do you say this? According to HTG they are using the correct spectrums in their leds

Correct spectrum does not equal correct type of leds. The Cree and Lumiled brand leds are the best as far as efficiency goes. The leds that they're selling over at htgsupply are not in the same league. The procyon uses Cree and the Smartlamp uses Lumileds and some that they made "in house". The people who make the TI Smartlamp have put in the most research and not only do they deliver "triband", they also include IR spectrum and UV spectrum. I had a Smartlamp and the results weren't quite as good as a 600 watt HPS, but it was close. However, it did produce less heat and used less energy at 330 watts.

Now I also think getting two procyons would be similar to the one Smartlamp because the penetration with led lights isn't that good. That's why it's a good idea to get a few procyons, because you'll have much better penetration and coverage.

From everything I have seen online, bigbong 1411 is giving you great advice. If you don't already know the website, go checkout www.greenpinelane.com to see the Smartlamp 600 and the Procyon 100 in action.

Not sure that I agree with bigbong on 2 procyons though based on the test results from greenpinelane as the Smartlamp out performed the Procyon by far more than two times -- more like at least 4 times -- the best value is gonna be one Smartlamp in a 'cost per yield' sense.

These triband products are nothing more than revamped one watt leds and not the high power ones of a Smartlamp.

The other big issue is that only the Smartlamps have ultra violet and infra red leds which are essential for real flowering. I have chated with Steve over at Greenpinelane and the folks at Grow Revolution who sell the Smartlamp and they could both be a great, no bullshit, resource for you if you have any more questions.

Peace.

HAHAHAHAH

Cmon' Apoco. I've been looking for someone like you for a while.

Here you go:

471 watts of rebel red.

78 watts per square foot.

More photometric flux than you can shake a fist at.

Red or blue. They are trippy as hell together man.

Don't blow your cash on something you'll be disappointed with.

So are you guys saying my 120W Triband my 90W triband and my Red and Blue booster wont work at all? If i toss a 150-200W HPS in there im sure i can Make some sweet plants.. I have seen great LED Veg growth with just the 120W LED triband that i currently have. If 260W's of LED Triband isnt enough to Flower i will toss in a 150W HID and boost that baby. Either way it cant be a waste of money as they are not " toys" and from what i see they appear to be high quality and much better then other things i see on ebay. I will be sure to show you guys what happens with all this triband LED light

Im wondering if i should add supplemental CFL Lighting.. If i did which colors would i add becides the 120 , 90 and 50W LED panels i got from HTG?.. If i were to add one of these high powered procyon LEDS would that be enough with my current 120 , 90, and 50 W panels??

Basicaly my three options are .. Please explain which would be best any why

1. 120W Triband LED, 90W Triband LED, 50W Red booster panel
2. 120W Triband LED , 90W TRIband UFO, 100W procyon LED
3. 120W Triband LED, 90W Triband UFO, 150-200W HID Lamp...

Which of these three would produce the best/ most yeild? I know this is a tough question.. Give it your best!!!

I think you should go with more lower watt LED so that you can cover a wider surface area and keep them closer to the plants. That seems to work best from what i have seen. I think one higher wattage fixture would have to be too far away and wouldn't deliver the same results. But I think there is there is something to be said for a combination of hps and LEDs or CFLs and LEDS for that matter. I'm trying the latter of the two options I just listed. and it seems easy enough to add uvb or IR bulbs in the flowering stage for better results( also what I plan to do ). Take treeths advice dudes done some research
