Morning all

Just setting up my new room, have a little look if you like and see what you think, few things I haven’t decide on yet do chip in if you’ve got any thoughts

Thanks
Sp

So set up is

8x8 tent
4x600 w hps ( hortiking digital )
8 inch rvk through carbon filter out the tent into loft space
6 inch passive intake
24 plants 6 under each light in auto pots
Haven’t decided between 8.5 or 15 l pots
200l res
Going to put 6 pots into a 1.2m square tray with one aqua valve in the tray rather than 6 individual aqua valves
Less cost less piping less mess when turning/ moving etc
Used autopots before so pretty confident with them
Got access to good clones so going to go 3-4 weeks from clone for veg and 8-9 weeks flower
Last grow I got 0.79 g per watt so if I can replicate that I’ll be well happy

Any couple of things I’m not sure about

Would using mh bulbs for veg and straight hps for flower make much difference over dual spectrum?
Would a 10 inch exhaust be more suitable for the tent size?
Would 8.5 l pots be big enough for 3-4 week veg
Most asked question in the world.....but with the super lumen function I’ll have 2600w would 2000g be a realistic target given the set up and my previous results?

Anyway thanks for reading
Sp

Hey Man.

Yeah using MH for veg and Super HPS or enhanced red over a duel spectrum will make a lot of difference.

Go with bigger pots over smaller ones.

A 10inch exhaust would be more suitable, but that it down to your environment, as far as air exchange a strong 8" fan should take care of co2 replenishment, but if its enough to keep 2400w cool will depend on your ambient temps.
I live in England, its not known for its heat, although it has its moments, running a 4x8 tent and an 8" airforce 2 silenced fan I could keep 2x 600w HPS lights within ideal temps or 3x 600w with cooled hoods/tubes.
So it depends on your air temp going in and the airflow rating of the fan you plan to use.
If you plan to grow all year round then you have to factor in the highest temps you will be dealing with and work your fans around that.
Here is a reasonably useful chart to show desired temp rise from ambient with X amount of wattage and what air flow you need to get that, please read all the notes as they are important. Its not a perfect system but gives you a rough idea.

And yeah I don't think your yield goal is unrealistic.

Going back to the HPS v MH for veg.

Duel spec HPS is the lazy mans bulb. Its ok for both veg and flower. Its not amazing.
MH will give you say for example a bud site every 2cm compared to say every 4-5cm with HPS.
More red in your HPS will give you bigger buds than duel spec. You also get more stretch when you flip from MH to HPS.
Which is mostly a good thing.

I had a few runs with duel spec bulbs and I had some strains which didn't stretch and the results were a small plant with fairly small buds. Although that was not the case with every strain, it was enough for me to go back to a bulb with no added blue.
I also vegged with HPS for a few years and it just doesn't compare to the stacking you get with MH.

What you do in veg pays you back in flower.
