Needing some setup help

First Timer,

Any help and advice is appreciated.

I'll get right to it. I have created something like the "Cool Cab" I think its called. It's a metal cabinet that has the dimensions of 53" tall 17" deep 36" long. I'm wanting to grow in soil. What size lights do i need for such a small space? And how many plants can grow in that space? Do i need Co2?

i wouldnt get a CO2 tank, but you should have a intake hose run up from the bottom, after you make a hole either on the bottom or the side low down. then a exhaust fan in the upper section blowing out or however u want to do it. then as a light goes, id prolly go wth a 400 hps. it depends what your growing from(seed or clone) but if u dont already have a light, i would pick up a hps/mh package from htg. or even get a whole starter kit(a good deal) or look around for somthin else. but thats what i would do.

you can probly grow anywhere from 3-8 plants in there depending on how big of pots u use.

Honestly, id put that thing on its side so its 53" long, 36" tall, and 17" wide. That way you have more of a footprint to put more plants in, and with the added length, you can LST and get more yeild. The only prob i see is that whatever lights you are going to use will take up about 10 inches of that 36 and the planters the plants will be in could be up to 14" tall. You may have to cut a hole in the bottom to fit the planters in, then put the whole cabinet on some cinder blocks to elevate it to the top of the planter.

This means the dirt line will be at the bottom of your chamber so the remaining 26" is free for plant growth, minus a few inches if you are going with an HID system rather than CFLs.

Thats just me. Im all about LST.
