Ok guys Im getting ready for my first grow and want to do it right and i need a little advice. Fist off I am going to use the super silver haze auto. strain. I will be growing 10 plants and will be building my own grow box. I was planing on making the box 4ft long, 3ft wide and 3ft tall. I have done some research and want to use led lights because of the low energy cost. My questions are 1. how many lights would i need and what watts? 2. What size should my vent holes be? 3. Would this box be big enough for 10 plants? 4. What type of nutrients would i need to use? I know its a lot to ask but like I said I want to do this right. Thanks guys

For the life of me, I can't figure out why newbies try to grow a crop of marijuana on the first attempt? No offense, but my suggestion to all newbies is to grow a single plant so you learn what you are dealing with. You learn allot from observing a single plant through all of its lifespan. So my suggestion is going to be a single plant, in soil (ffof is my favorite). Veg it for 30 days with CFL light. then bring in your LED to flower? I find a 20/4 light cycle from seed to harvest works great with autos.

i know that being that its your first grow i would say that your space is going to be a little small and with the LED's i just dont think that you are going to get the yield that you are hoping for from them what your going to save in electricity you are going to spend on GOOD LED's i would say if you are trying to stay cheap on the electric bill get a good T5 set up (4ft8bulb) IMO the LED's havent came far enough yet to produce like a T5 and MH/HPS and still even with a small 400watt mh/hps your still not looking at that much on the bill and you will be much happier then with the LED's and ten plants is going to be IMO a little bit much especially for a grow space that size
i really wish that i could go with MH/HPS i rent and the room i use one has no power in it at all (attic) so i have to run power in there myself so running power for a 400MH just wouldnt be practical or possible along with fans and so forth. for nutes depends on what medium your using for one, vent holes id say big enough to move 5 times the air in the inclosure per min but you dont want just plain ole holes only use holes if your planning on putting fans in them for intake and exhaust

i knw that there are alot of ppl out there that swear by/against the LED's but from my exp. they arent! worth it (by them selfs adding a T5 or some good cfls would help) but someone else who is alittle more established may have to chime in on this one

i run a T5 set-up and it works really well and i havent seen much variation in my bill at all maybe 20$ at the most so really not that bad
best of luck to you

id run less plants and do a scrog

i would make it taller like 4 feet and i agree do 1 or 2 plants first i suggest 2 cause they might act a bit diff and doing 2 will give you more bud.
Peace and Love all

I grew a full garden on my 1st ever grow, it went fantastic. Waste of time and space to just grow one plant, but I do always advise to do some basic research 1st.
