Need Your Two-Cents

Im going to start out with that ive grown successfully a few times before. Just different methods.
So im going to list what i got and my variables.
-going on 4 1/2 weeks (bag-seed)
-in organic potting soil
-under 3 Daylight 23w/100w, 6500k and 1450 lumens each, 24/7
-in-take and exhaust fan in place
-homemade CO2 producer
-10 inch tall oscillating fan
-humidifier
-ph meter
-Measurements done with gallons
-avg temp 70-78 F, avg humidity 55%-68%

-have had them on distilled water for the first 3 weeks (7.0 ph)
-started feeding MG Houseplant food 8-7-6 at 1/4 strength ( I know MG is not the greatest, but i can work)
(feeding once a week with that till there was run off.)
- went to switch ph to 6.5 some how dropped to 5.6 and my meter read it incorrectly.
(so one watering of that) noticed black spots popping up on alot of the old growth.
so went and put the meter back in the water surely 5.6 O.O (too acidic for soil)
-so i flushed them with distilled ph of 7.0
-instantly got new distilled water and now correct ph of 6.5

Its been a week now and the leaves with the spots have just died off, starting to notice some leaf tips are curling up. Everything thats going on is on the old growth. Yellowing of some of the leaves, black spots.

ive done my fair share of research to figure out what deficiency it may be, and im still baffled.
- close to about 4 weeks i watered with 1/4 Miracle grow solution and foiler fed with epsom salt water solution (1/2 teaspoon epsom salt to a gallon)
-about 4 days from that watering i watered with distilled ph 6.5
- 2 days from that foiler fed with epsom salt water. (which is when i posted this)

which is where im at now, problem still exists
im going to attach some pictures
I believe that i may need to wait another week, and another flush.
that the acidic water i used that one time messed them up (and its guna take a lil while to recover)
maybe a little nitrogen deficient ????? maybe magnesium deficient????

they are doing ok. Something is out of wack but your new growth looks decent. Mg and K are being locked out. It appears. but when they start to recover it isnt going to make the shitty bottom leaves look any better. But it will grow faster and look even green.

paying a lot of money for good dirt, nutes, ppm, ph, water, light. Not co2 until your pro. Would help.

i noticed roots showing at the bottom so i got them in bigger containers.
not using miracle grow anymore, didnt really want to. but i got shultz 10-15-10,
starting on 1/4 the recommended dose.
and dolomite in the soil.
giving them a lil break, new growth is still going on, but the old is kinda dying off

Thanks for the reply :)

yea it couldnt be a nitrogen tox. im seeing no dark green in any of the growth.
if anything a lil nitro def.

but i was getting the blotchy rusty then black spots, so threw in some dolomite.

So update...
i have them in water jugs with holes on every side and bottom
mixed dolomite in soil
waited a few days after transplant
and then flushed with 3/4 a gallon each of plain distilled water (7.0)
about 4 days ago i fed them once with shultz 10-15-10 (says 7 drops to 4 cups)
i did 3 drops to 4 cups.
i see a lil nutrient burn on new growth
ive lost a bunch of older leaves (from the cal-mag def.)
im hoping they bounce back soon.

Should i go down to 2 drops per 4 cups? maybe 1?
i also have natural nitrogen supplement at 8-0-0
maybe add a little of that

I think they have improved. I would recommend adding a little liquid cal/mag to your distilled water because the limestone can take awhile to break down and become available.

They are looking so much better. I've had the same issue before and in my case it was too late for some to bounce back like that.

ok thanks Bugeye :)
i thought about going and getting some of the liquid cal-mag.
Edit: just got hydrated lime (only cal-mag i can find at the local garden shop)
it calls for 1 tbsp per gallon.... but ive read that it can burn the roots

how much cal-mag should i add to a gallon? 1/2 tbsp? 1/4?
and about how often should i water with that?

i water basically every 3-4 days (when the soil seems to be drying up a few inches down)

what about the shultz 10-15-10.... 2 drops per 4 cups?

Looking good, so just keep doing what youre doing ;) i prefer using nutes that multiplies in 1-2-3 for flowering, and always use liquid cal/mag since it works faster ;)

Other than that I just wanted to input youre doing well, so keep going ;)

I have some hydrated lime in my soil recipe but I have no experience mixing it with water so I can't help much with your specific question. I believe it also takes awhile to become available but better to research further. As long as they keep improving, that is the important thing!

alright, yea i read around and saw that some people bid a tsp instead of a tbsp of the hydrated lime per gallon.
i did a half a tsp to start off with.

also with the shultz it also says 4 dropperfuls to each gallon.
i was going to do 1/4 so that would make it 2.5-3.7-2.5.
then figured throw in a lil just nitrogen bring it up to 4-3.7-2.5

i just gotta play around with the numbers and find that right spot.

so far there looking good, the lil nutrient burn went away, and rusty spots from cal def. are starting to go away too.
a couple more days and il feed them
