Right, i have got a room which is 8ft wide 10ft length 8ft tall, it also has one window and a vent which goes straight to the chimney breast. I want to make the most out of this room for the risk i am taking, i have been researching different methods to grow, i like the idea of sea of green but i don't want to waste the height room with small plants. I can afford almost any setup apart from LED's so can anyone give me some advice. Thanks, Rep for good ideas.

By the time you figure in containers, lights, hangers, and distance to compensate with heat your going to be left with about 4' of growing area. You're going to have to flower most plants at 1-2' to fit in that space. I'd split the room down the middle making a veg/flower chamber - maybe more room on the flower side. I'd think the chimney and window should both be on the veg side for evacing 24hr heat and dealing with any light that comes in the window (I assume you'll be covering it though). You might look at something like 2x600w for veg and 2x1000w to flower, or maybe an HPS/MH combo for veg with 2x1000w to flower. You'll want to consider your power bill before jumping on lights though.... in cali a 1000w runs about $100/mo on 12/12.

Ive got the power covered theres an electrician i know who can bypass the meter. I am thinking of using serious seeds chronic. Also i forgot to mention theres a small cellar which i could use for 1-2 mothers and i could put the cuttings straight into flower after the roots are established using sea of green and splitting the room into 4 sections and rotating the plants every 2 weeks so i can get a harvest every 2 weeks then after. i was just wondering if to maybe have a light for each section i have heard 600w have got the best lumen to watt ratio. what do you think?

Haven't paid that much attention but it looks like the 600w may be slightly more effcient. A hortilux 1000w is like 145k (0.145), and 600w is 88k (0.146). I'd keep the meter bypass stuff to yourself though. You definitely don't want the power company coming out to investigate the meter they will call in the local cavalry.

you are making it to complicated. i would follow what whiteflour said. dont worry about mothers until you get your shit down. besides, a mother can basicly live in a 3 by 2 by 2 box with enough cfls and vents. and if you dont want to sog then you should start to read up on forms of lsting thats the only way to get high yields out of a space like that. goodluck. budout.

I just like to plan everything out before i do it. just a question with sog can you put the cuttings straight into flower or would you need some veg time.

dude dont pass the meter its not worth it. They have street meters and when it dont add up they will come investigating and find you easy. Bypassing your meter is a fo sure way to get busted

Yes you can go straight to flower from clone. Your plants wont get many node sites but it's possible. If you can manage the space to have a cloner, veg, and flower space then you can put everything on a 3week cycle by keeping plants that flower in around 65days.

That would give you time for 3weeks of rooting, 3 weeks of vegging, and then 9weeks in flower. You should be able to pull a few plants out as your cycling plants in. If done this way you can keep multiple strains by just taking your cuts from the veg plants. You'll never have big busy plants but you can skip the hassle of maintaining mothers while keeping your favorite girls around.
