Hi! And thanks for any advice you guys might have in advance! I'm new to the site but am hoping to be an active member. I'll start off with some details I have a 1k watt hps in a basement about4'x5 or so with reflectix on3 of the 4 walls an a white sheet covering the entrance with a small fan providing some airflow. I am not a vetteren grower by any means but do have a couple small grows under my belt the last of wich ( a Cali mist and master kush) both turned out seriously excellent! My problem is the quality finally hit what I was looking for but the yield was maybe a lil over an ounce each plant.. I was really hopein to get to the 2+ range per plant. I live in California and am prescribed just an FYI. Now those last 2 plants where grown mostly under 2 150 watt hps lights with a 3-4 week veg I pruned probably everything up almost a foot over the soil ( plant ended probably about 4 feet above the soil and I know I was deffinately outgrowing the light capacity I had but was not able to get the 1k watt hps until it's last 2 weeks of flower wich I deffinately feel helped pump up the buds a bit! I did not nute them until their last week of veg on, using humboldt natural grow and bloom.
Ok now for the current set up room dimensions are written above this time I have 6 plants about 2-3 weeks veg again 2 master kush 3 og kush and 1 Kali mist. I decided to try different methods on different plants and would love to hear feedback on wich of those you recomend and why as well I'm looking to be having 12 plants in flower at all times harvesting 6 a month and would like to yield at least 2 ounces a plant ideally at least a pound a month. First off I should ask is this possible? I feel like it's a very attainable goal but maybe not please let mr know what you think. I have these plants in fox farm o.f. With and additional 20-30 percent of peralite I live in l.a. Area of California so humidity is relatively low and temp doesn't fluctuate much betweenrhw light heat an being in a basement. I am still using humboldt neuts natural grow and bloom grow for veg and grow amd bloom all the way through flower until flush last 2 weeks I am vegging until I have mainly all milky trichs with some amber an maybe a few still clear. This time around I lst ( tied top of one og kush to the bottom of it's stalk and I really noticed the outside 4 branches/ colas I left come into their own so it has 5 colas of about equal length now that I released the top at beggininf of flower all looking healthy. I topped one master kush and only left one other very healthy branch so I have a total of 3 main colas on that one and ha read alot of people saying to cut out the lower budsites to let it focus on main cola so other than fan leaves I pruned almost everything on this one other than the top 6 inches or so of the main colas before I switched to flower the other master kush I did not top ( I want to check out yield difference ) but I did take out almost all of the lower/ undergrowth it has maybe 7 or so main branches and has grown very bush like not really overlapping the other 3 plants I topped an left between 1 and 3 other branches to be main colas doing varying extremes of pruning the one master kush being he most and one of the of kush I pruned off all branches except for the main 4 I decided to leave 2 for the topped main colas and 2 other strong ones I also pruned out the very lower foliage/ undergrowth on all of them but left most all nodes on the branches that I kept( tried it a little different than the master kush I super pruned)
So sorry for the ridiculously long write up but I am trying to give you as much info as possible so you can give me^^ some good advice! I want to know anything you can tell me^^ as far as te methods I'm using/ anythin I'm doing wrong how can I attain 2 plus ounces per plant like this. Is it likely I'm already on track to do that? And just having the 1k watt hps the whole grow this time will make my yield that much bigger? If you think any of the methods I described are dumb or good please tell me^^ why or how I can improve on them! Or any other methods you recomend! I will post pictures of current grow very soon so you can try to see the pruning better and let's see any more info you need or questions please don't hesitate to ask! I use filtered water and my ph is usually around 6.2 I believe they are all in 3 gallon buckets I keep the light a foot and a half or more above the plants and haven't been having any heat stress issues at all. Um hmm... I use nutes for 2 feedings then just water for one and wether using nutes or water I pour till I get some runoff try and flood the bucket a little bit hole pouring so it covers all the soil. The one fan I have is very small though I must say so that might be bad. So ya please please any advice is so very appreciated! Thanks again in advance!!!
