Need some advice please.

I have finally desided to go with a 3.5 x 4 x 9 grow room. I will have 1-600w HPS. 4-4' T-5 lights. I will be using soil as my mediem to grow in. I plan to grow 3 to 4 plants at a time from veg to flower in this room. I will not be doing clones, I will be growing from seeds. I will only do a few grows a year. This is for personal consumtion for me and 2 others that do not know i am doing this. They need it for medical reasons and I dont want them to risk the cops anymore than they have to. I like to grow other household plants so I dont mind doing this for them. I will use the DIY activated carbon filter. I plan to use a DIY CO2 jugs for flowering. I have 25' of 4" insulated flex duct. I have the following questions:

1. What do you recomened on how to run the ventilation system? I have two outlets for my hood on the 600w. Do I attach the fan directly to the hood? Should I run seperate ventilation for the light and the room or is there a way not to?

2. What and how many fans do you recommend for the ventilation system?

3. I want to automate my lights and and ventalation system. What do you recommend? I know there are timers and thermastates and what not. Just not sure how or what.

4. I have read that UVB is good for flowering and tri production. What light or specs for a light do you recommend? I dont want to fry my girls.

1. I would have the fan at the end pulling through ducting that is attached to one end of the hood. On the other end of the hood have some ducting leading to your diy carbon filter so that all the air exhausted from your room is pulled through the carbon filter removing all the smells. 2. You could either do what I said in the answer to your first question, or you can run two exhaust fans. One for your light where instead of running the other end of the ducting to a carbon filter you would have it lead to outside the grow room so that only the heat from the light is exhausted and no room air. You can then use another exhaust fan to pull through your carbon filter and out of the room. Using two fans would make it easier to cool your room.

Set it for the temp you want so that the exhaust fans will kick off when it gets below your chosen temp and will kick on when it gets above your chosen temp

Hey Tom thanks for the advise. Do you have a timer for the lights that you recommend? Plus is there a particular fans you recommend?
