Need some advice please! (Pic included)

Hey! So, I’ve never done this before — I started out with a found seed from a dispensary. It was just a lone healthy looking seed so I put it into a paper towel. So, my botany skill is rank 0. However, i had some over watering issues — I think I addressed. Now the cotyledons are starting to turn. Which looks like can be normal? My question is — am I getting close to transplanting? If so how deep and how large of a pot? Right now I’m on east coast so I have natural like about 10 hours then I supplement 8 hours to hit 16 a day. It’s in doors in a cool, dry environment. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. I didn’t water at all today, I transplanted a couple days ago, watered.. but I think I was drowning it — the small browning on the largest of the leaves hasn’t spread - I wonder if I should clip that browning off? I was going to let it go a couple days with no water in case the roots did take over watering damage. Does it look like I should uproot it and look for rot?

I would transplant into a 1-3 gln pot bury up to the single set of leaves and don’t clip anything off

Clay pots stay cool when its cool, warm when its warm. Have you given it any nutrients yet? If not start off with a pretty lite feed. Good luck and have fun!

I picked up a 3 gallon pot and I found 1 organic shelf brand of soil from Canada with light fertilizer (I don’t know how the rules are on brands here so I left it out). Thank you for the guidance. I used a spray bottle to moisten the area but didn’t flood it...

Thank you for taking the time to respond! I ended up getting a larger pot — it’s hard plastic. (pic below). It is fun. I always understood how plants grow in theory — but with this, I found this seed — and it sprouted.. I didn’t really know if it would or not. I didn’t realize how rewarding gardening could be.

My advice stop trying to use sun and indoor lights
Better to grow indoor completely for quality cause Mother Nature is brutal

ok wow though plant looked a lot bigger in the clay pot. But should be alright and I wouldn’t feed it quiet yet give it a week or two

LOL, that's funny. I think the clay pot was smaller than a solo cup but ya, it looked huge for it's age.

I'd try and get humidity up for veg if it's dry.

Take autodoctors advice and don't mess with nutes at all for about 2 weeks minimum, especially since you transplanted. When watering, as long as there are holes in the bottom of your new container, water till it just starts coming out of the the holes. I use smart pots and as soon as I see water in the tray they are in, I know they are good. Generally 1 gallon every 4 days in 5 gallon pots during veg then 1.5 gallons every 3 days during flower but of course that depends on environmental factors.

Stick with it, you'll get it!

I think it’s liking it. Here’s some progress and a better point of reference ha.

Your next set of leaves ought to be 5 fingers then to the moon! I would have expected it to be much larger after almost a week but I'd bet the transplant slowed it a wee bit. Good color on the new growth though. Keep posting, I am digging this.

This is how it’s looking: I gave it light nutes 2 days ago: .5/1/1 diluted a little more than the instructions called for(all I had — need to find something different.)

wondering when I’ll be able to confirm gender… still unknown. The seed came from a hybrid.

I usually see pre-flower pistils going into week 5 of veg. You can certainly flip to 12/12 before that then about 1-2 weeks into flower you will know. Good turn around!

Well this is where the story ends. It seems I left a door open and my sisters cat ate the plant. I’m not trolling — it sucks. I put a lot of effort in and even some of you took time to aid me. I’m sorry about the outcome but it did bring me joy to grow a plant and I learned quite a bit. I’ll give it another go at some point.

Cat is delicious in chop suey

I found another seed since my cat incident. Can I tell the gender yet? Out of 5 seeds this one is still with me. Came from OG Kush. As before — no idea if it’s autoflower, male, female…. It started leggy… kinda split off. Don’t know if I should clip the top or not? (Is the term “clip”?)

Third photo. Top nod, looks like a male flower sack. I could be wrong but if the plant is tall and spindly they often will be male. Wait for someone else to chime in. Good luck.
