Hi all,

First post, first grow,

I am currently running a 400w setup, details as follows.......

Closet grow

3 DJ short BB babies that are really looking good and 1 random strain that just germinated.
Room Size - 52"L x 24"D x 67"H (Total height is 8ft, but shelving cant be removed starts @ 67")
Hydrofarm Radiant hood (Available 4" flange kit and lens for cooling)
Lumatek 400w ballast (outside the room and cooled none the less)
Phillips 400w MH (ones from home depot)
4x84 cfm 115VAC 120mm fans (2 mounted high blowing out and 2 mounted low blowing in)
1x 12" oscillating fan on the floor and a big ass 20" fan blowing directly at the bulb (trying to cool and taking up a ton of space.)

Its not even a full week into vegging and I am battling heat like a mofo.

I allready know i need to cool the light and vent it out of the room what I am stuck on is which route to go. Should I get the cooling kit for the reflector or should I go the cool tube route. A scrubber will most likely be needed later down the road.

On a side note, Sound levels are already an issue at night. I can only use 2 of the 120mm fans at night cause they are pretty damn loud and wake up my bro in the next room. The monster 20" is almost always on low and really isnt that loud. I havent been getting much sleep as of late since the closet doors have to be open at all times when the light is on, just to control the heat.

Down to the point which route should I go to keep the heat down? Cool tube or vented hood?

Which brand of fan is the most quiet? How many cfm's should I aim for with a scrubber to most likely be used later.

Money is somewhat of an issue.

HELP PLEASE!!

cooltube or vented hood? both do the same so whatever is cheaper
to cool the closet, you want to use you fans on top to suck the air out w/ a passive vent at the bottom to let air in. if you can vent the heat outside or take in the outside air & vent the heat into your room,it will be better.
