need help with t5 lighting

will a 4' 8 bulb t5 be sufficient to veg 12 nice sized plants they'll be blooming under a 1000w hps any help is greatly appreciated

That will work just fine.

Keep it as close to the tops as you can, since the T5's don't give off much heat. I keep my T5 about an inch away. (Any more and some of the plants grow into the light over the course of the day)
