Hi all, This is my first posting and Im getting ready to attemp my first grow ever and considering doing 2 plants a DWC and soil at the same time. What nutes can i use for the DWC grow. I was looking at Peters 20-20-20 but not sure if i can use that in a Hydro setup. Also will a 4X48" floro setup 2 6500k and 2 terrrium/aquarium lamps and about 4 CFL from the bottom be enough lights for a tiny closet?I would really appriciate any one and or everyones help. Thanks and happy blazzing!:joint:

slow down bro... you need to take a big look at what you are going to be doing, one thing at a time. what is your wattage of lights and how many lumens and will it be enough for 2 plants? It sounds like you haven't started seedling so what you got should get you pretty far, but what about later. Personally i use the botanicare line. It works for me. There is a lot out there, make sure the nutes are for hydro if that is what you are going for. and lights get hot so you will need ventilation for that tiny closet, which is something to think about as well. go to the GROWFAQ and read. It will help you the most.

i'll second that... i've put together a few DWC systems and if you've never done it before its a little tricky... if you are doing it in a closet, the first thing you have to worry about is ventilation. you need at least 1 air stream - fresh air coming in - old air being filtered and moving out. a second air stream could be used to vent the heat from the lights out of the closet independently. this is usually what people do for the large HID lighting... from there you have to choose a system that fits your growing style... cheap systems can work sometimes, but when they fail - they fail hard. Like, by pumping all of the water onto the floor, which will then grow mold like mad... its bad, trust me. the better systems have larger reservoirs and are automated to take care of everything for you. (by controlling ebb and flow, or including a control to maintain the water level in the control bucket by filling it from the resevoir) in my opinion growing is much for fun when everything is automated and you pretty much get to sit back and witness a miracle.... aka watching the grass grow ;-)

are u using tap water? if so u need to check the quality.. U gotta know the quality of ur water... If you are using tap water and its over 150 ppm i would definately use hard water nutes instead of botanicares stuff.. if u got good water botanicare is great stuff...

If u can get a 400w hps do it... the light ur about to give it i personally think sucks but i think youll get a lil bit of bud... yield is all about light.. if you dont have enough light you wont get very much bud..

Another thing ur gonna have to watch for is your water temperature. Keep it as cool as you can.. 68 is what you should aim for.. Under 72 and you should be worry free..

Peace
