okay so here it goes. i dont have any closets in my room, but i do have a lot of cabinets. the best one i think to use is the biggest, it's 3' wide, 2.25' deep and 2.25' tall. we can either use that or i can make some sort of "trunk" or something. i mean i can't grow anything enormous but i could possibly make my own box under 3 feet tall. i just need someone to either tell me how to go about this or how to make the new "trunk". i can get the supplies i need, i'm just asking for some help on the layout and instructions. thank you.

Honestly 3 feet is toooo short in my opinion. I dont really think it would be possible in this small of a box. if possible an extra foot or two would make a huge difference I believe. If you think about it. Say your pot is about 9-12 inches tall. That leaves you with only 2ft. Now consider your lights. They will take up space above your plants, probably around 5 inches plus they need to be a couple inches away from your plant at the minimum if your using cfl's. So that is another 10 inches right there. That leaves you with a 14 inch plant MAX. Honestly I dont think that would work.

I am not very experienced (on my 3rd successful grow) but hopefully some of the more experienced members can read through my thoughts and see what they think.

Why do you need to grow in something only 3ft tall and not any higher?

im trying to make it "discrete". but i mean i can really make whatever i want, i was just trying to disguise it like a chest/trunk. but i can make it however big i just realized. so tell me what i can do for cheap. i want to grow some high quality bud, a lot of it. i saw, a guy use some pvc pipes and like some plastic with some stuff sourounding it to keep the light in. and then inside he had some bud growing. i could do this. i need some help brainstorming, someone please help. =]

Ok, I would dig around in the "GROW ROOM DESIGN AND SETUP" section. Theres alot of differant plans I see in there.

If you are looking to make it as short as possible go with an Indica strain, you will get Shorter bushier plants.

What kind of lights to you plan on using? cfls or regular tube fluoro's. Your best bet would be to do a combo of the two since you want it short. Tube fluoro on top with cfls on the sides.

Dude make it however big you want depending on how man plants your gonna grow. At the minimum all you need is lights some airflow.

honestly theres a million ways to go about it and you can make it very simple or extremely confusing. Im sure youve seen enough examples on this site to throw something together.

Anyways Think something up maybe even draw something up and then we can help you improve upon your ideas and designs.

Hope I was helpful. If I was throw me some rep man. :peace::peace::peace:

How's this. it'll be about 4 feet tall, if i need more space tell me. and then around 5 feet long. This is all just a rough draft.

i was going to make it a wooden box with a removable roof with reflective sidings. then small vents at the top for the 2 fans to exhaust the box. cfls on the side and tubes on top. so any suggestions? im sorry if its not good, first timer.

Ok I would stick with dirt don't worry about hydro. Here is a link to a vendor with 3 different lowryder strains that would be good for your plans.

Now that I think about it 4 ft is just a tiny bit short. Go with 54 in. (4.5 ft). That would give you more room for your lights and pots which will take up a lot of vertical space. Trust me Height will always be an issue and you don't want to be stuck with an area thats too small.

You can also LST (low stress training) your plants, whether you choose a lowryder strain or not. I have used LST techniques and it is very effective.

Hopefully that clears up some things. I'm surprised nobody else has bothered to help.
