Hi this is my 1st time starting with clones (had success from seeds), So ill walk through everything thats happened to give you guys the best picture possible:
Ok my buddy got 2 clones from his buddies plants the 1 is white rhino and it was quite small and a little weak looking and the other 1 is shishka berry which is quite a bit bigger, they came in rock wool i put them on a trey with some water and put them under a dual bulb floresent. the next morning all the leaves were laying flat on the tray everything was hunched over and incridibly sad looking, so my buddy came over and cut the leafs on the shishka berry about an inch so it wasnt so heavey and took them out of the rock wool and into seperate cups with water, redipping them in rooting gel (yes they dont have roots yet). they started to look a bit better the branches erected themselves. we went to the store and bought a container with an air pump and a air rock, put holes in the container, made that all up put water in it and put the clones in there, the stem sits like 2 1/5 inches in there right where it bubbles, after a few days the leaves started to turn brownish yellowish, ive put a little dome over the clones for humidity. ive been dippin them in rooting gel maybe 6 times over the past week, now the clones look pretty dead even the new growths are turning yellow. lastnight i took them out of the cloner and back into cups and been spraying them with water like since lastnight about 6 times. the clones look almost dead is there any way i can save them? i dont have a camera to take pics.

You only need to apply rooting gel once. After that you keep them humid and make sure the rockwool cube is holding enough water. I like to add an anti-wilting agent to the water. After that I just keep spraying the leaves with the same water-wilting mix every couple of days till they are rooted. Also the flouro's must be about an inch away from the top of the dome. They need the light, the more light they get the quicker they will develop root. Also 70f is an ideal temp'. They may still be saveable, get things right and have the patience not to pull them out looking for root.

You think it could have been an over abundance of cloning gel then? either that or it clogging up the stem system not alowing it to feed properly? I was under the imperssion it should be applied regularly, good i know that now tho

Also, before you add the rooting agent you are meant to hold the clone under water and make an angled slice at the stem. This prevents any air bubbles gathering in the stem. You should also soak your rockwool cubes over-night before you place the clones in them, obviously you squeeze out most of the excess water first. I soak mine in a water-anti wilting mix. I don't use the gel, I use rooting hormone so I'm not sure on whether the gel can block up the stem. I've heard it said though that it really doesn't matter which type of rooting agent you use.

I used to use Olivia's Cloning Gel with great success. All of a sudden, I couldn't get cuttings to root. Turns out, the Gel goes bad on the storage shelf. Since then, I've used Rooting Powder and never had a problem at all.

It's funny how different people use different tecniques. for example, I never squeeze the water out of the rockwool before I put the cutting in there. Also, I don't soak the cubes overnight either. I just soak them as I'm taking the cuttings. I don't use a dome or anti-wilt anymore either. And ... I get almost 100% rooted. Others would cringe at these methods, but it works for me.

I use a home-made bubble-cloner and two, 20 watt fluros. Works like a champ.

ive noticed very short & thin possible roots on the shishkaberry, they look white but really small & thin, the white rhino still is about the same. i have them in shot glasses with a dvd spindle cover thats clear over them acting as a dome (works pretty well for building up the humidity) and the floresent light about an inch above them. here hopin for the best :D

I use plastic containers (any that I can find) then I cover over the clones with cling-film. I've brought 41 clones through so far using this method and 10 of them were in soil not rockwool.
