Need help on lights...

Hello everybody, im new to this site and growing and I'm gonna start an indoor grow. So anyway i was wondering what was the best lights to get. I'm only planning on growing 2-3 plants at a time and i always read about how people mess up on their first grow with lights so i hope i could skip that learning experience and get it right the first time. So any feed back would be helpful... Thank you!

A lot depends on the room size & your ability to air cool light. I have several friends who love 600w lamps, there's threads here devoted to 600's. I personally use 1000's, as able to keep very cool, and nothing has better canopy penetration. I use MH bulbs for veg & HPS for flower. If you have a digital ballast, which I recomment, you can switch bulbs easily. As a guideline, you need 60watts/sq ft to get nice cola's. If you want giant colas, 100watts/sq ft or more, again, only if you can keep them cool enough.
