Lowryder #2
Soil: peat, verm, worm casing, perlite
watering every third day and using Jack's classic blossom booster 10-30-20 1x/week
pH is around 7.5. I've been using vinegar to bring the pH of the water down to about 6.5 when watering. I think that's affecting the smell of the plants too...
I'm growing under two 65w 6500k CFL's and 1 42w 3200k CFL. One square foot of space. Pretty tight. Temps are 78 day/ 65 night
Do you think I have a nutrient lockout going here? Looks like Nitrogen deficiency but the leaves are rusty like Mg problem...Please help as they've lost most of their fan leaves and I know that's going to affect bud production :-(

anyone? It could be that the plant is just finishing earlier than I anticipated. The night temps get down pretty low...

Jacks classic bloom booster doesn't have enough N, get some of their grow formula. Their site suggests alternating feedings or mixing half bloom half grow. Some plants can take just straight bloom form, most can't.

word. Thanks man. I think it might be the phenotype of these guys. I see lots of pics with yellow leaves. It's like they grow so fast that they can't get the N out of the soil fast enough or something. I did an epsom salt, lime juice, fert mix, pH 6 to see if that would help any. I haven't lost any leaves since then, however, they are still yellowing and even turning purple now. It really could be the night temps...not sure.

The flowers draw the nitrogen away from the fan leaves ...this is a natural occurence...It seems like you might have a minor Mg deficiency...you need a good bloom fert...don't add extra nitrogen.....in this stage you need less nitrogen

They look fine. Flush them with distilled water ph'd to about 6.0 then water one more time before going back to nutes. You may have given them too much but the ph'd water flush definately wont hurt anything and maybe even them out a bit. Make sure you are using nutes with a middle number higher than the 1st number.

Cool. That makes sense I didn't use any other fert besides the flowering fert so that could have been the culprit. I think I should have used a natural soil rather than trying to make my own. Actually, I don't know why I even tried that.
I really dig the size of these plants. It's literally just a bud on a stick.
Anyway, thanks for the help. I will do a pH 6 flush today and then fert next time around. They really seem underfertilized to me but the flowering seems to be as good as it gets being that they are growing in yogurt containers..haha

Your bloom fert is good, just follow the manufacturers directions, day 35 is a little earlier for fading in my limited experience. Mg def is also common and can be tx with a weak epsom salt spray.

I've grown Lowryder2's several times and they always look like yours.
They just don't seem to like too many nutes or too strong a light.

im doin a sog dieselryder grow an i have yet to see any kinda fan leaves fallin off. im still a noob, but i do hear alot that u have to kinda go easy on da nutes with these plants. alot peeps use 1/4 strength all the way thru an jus water with or without molasses.

i go by the book and jus flush with 3 parts water to 1 part growing medium also add a bit of organic compost or just some kind of fresh soil with no added nutes on to the top of existing soil. leaves soon start to darken down but im afraid any leaves with over 50 percent damage may not revive it.

watch for the center of your leaves and the veins up the stems tho, they may start to go red, it shortly followed my N defficiency and leaves may darken up and curl :S

hope this helped and this is going by " The indoor bible" cannabis horticulture guide
Happy growing!
