Need HELP fox farm nute question?????

ok so I was wondering if I can use my fox farm soil nutrients for a bubble ponics setup in a 5 gallon bucket. I know that fox farm has soil and hydro nutes, but what is the difference? Would I have to use the nutes at half strength and go up from there if they seem to work? Any help would be great guys bongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmilie

Hydro nutes typically are more complete since there is no soil to provide some of the nutrients. Also, hydro formulations typically have different ratios of Nitrate Nitrogen to Ammoniaical Nitrogen. These forms of N are absorbed at different rates which is important in Hydro. :bigjoint:

hey doc thanks for the reply, that makes sense that thats what the hydro nutes are...im just starting to get into the whole hydro scene.....the 5 gallon bucket setup im going to do is just gunna be a trial run, would it even be worth it to try the soil nutes, if it doesnt turn out perfect I dont really care, I just want to see if I can do it in the 5 gallon buckets to help eliminate the cost of dirt, and the problem of disposing of the dirt once the plants are done....how bad could it get with the soil nutes?

I'm a soil guy but I've heard of people using soil nutes for hydro successfully. I've not tried it myself so I can't say for sure how well it will work but if you are somewhat experienced and can read your plants well I think you should be able to make it work. bongsmilie
