Need help designing a grow room

This is my first time growing "tomatoes" but i've done a lot of reading. Nonetheless.. i feel like all this reading is doing me no good.

Lets start with the space that I have. Well.. thats just it I know the space I'm gonna use. I can make it as big as I want or as small as I want. What I don't understand is ..

Will my plants get less light if they are in a room with more square feet?

I plan to do 10 plants, vegging with fluorescents and hps for flowering. Is that a good idea? If so how many fluorescents should I have and what kind of hps should I have for 10. (I only want 1 hps if possible).

Another question regarding lighting.. Do plants need more light as they make it pass the seedling stage?

All feedback appreciated. Keep in mind Im not so picky for quality as I am with QUANTITY. As long as it passes as KB i'll be satisfied. Would you suggest scrog?? if so how big should the room be for 10 plants.

yes your plants will get less light in an open room, try to enclose it somehow with mylar or black and white poly, especially if u are looking for quantity. and again if u are going for quantity, i would recommend using high intensity lighting for all stages, not just flowering. go with a switchable HPS so u can get both spectrums without the need for two different light setups. The longer they veg, the more they will produce, given that u have enough light to go around.

JK anyway yeah the cfls especially will lose light in a bigger room, the hps depending on size will to just not as much. you want to isolate the plants as much as possible to maximize the light, the CFL are great for vegging and for ten plants i would say 10 42 watt lights at least plus some tube flos. a 400 watt hps might do the trick,, but probably 600 maybe a 1000, you want all the light to go directly at the plants and not all over the room, do whatever you have to do to do that...heres my first grow under cfls, one plant...but check it out these "tomatoes" get me fucked up lol just messin man
