need help choosing lighting, cfl, led, hps

i need help choosing what type of light to use. cfl hps or even led.

i tried making a cfl light fixture but that was a failure. lowes and home depot didn't have the parts i needed. they didn't even have cfls that went past 42 watts. i don't have to much money to spend but i know with out good lighting you'll have crappy buds. and if you have crappy buds, whats the point. so i say ill spend like around 130 for lighting. for 2 or maybe 3 plants.

is there anybody who can point me in a direction to a site with good (and easy on the wallet) lights.

i figure cfl would be the best for low watts and getting the job done.

any good LED grow lights people would recommend? LEDs would be awesome if they worked. but there is to much rumors about them for me to really understand what one to buy.

i went to the hydro store today but they wanted like 205 for 250w ballast, fixture and hps bulb. but thats to much for me at the moment.

oh yea or the T5s. the bulbs dont look that expensive, i found blue spectrum and red for 15$ each.

thanks in advance for helpin my noob ass.

they got t5 fixtures with 4,6 and 8 bulbs for cheap, i seen people get nice buds with them with proper grow methods, but if u have room and money spend $500 and get 600hps bulb, lumetek ballist, a 6 inch cool tube with a active air 400cfm inline fan and u'll be able to yeild a 1/2 lb easy

ebay my friend, i bet $130 could get ya something in the 250w range for ballast, bulb, reflector mh/hps setup
ebay is trust worthy? i always stayed away from them cuz their car parts were cheap i figured buying lights it would be the same. ill check there.

also t5 do seem pretty cheap. just always heard people say they dont bud very well. glad to hear somebody saying something good about them.

I have bought quite a few parts of my equipment off of eBay, so that is definitely one place to look. The price range you are looking at, your best bet for a company that sells lighting on the cheap is HTG.com. Click that link and you will find something in your price range for a 400w light. Good luck.
