Need help and suggestions for first indoor grow, multiple strains.

This is going to be my first full grow. I tried once in a pc case but wasn't as educated now on what to do. My future setup is going to go like this.
(pick & mix seeds from attitude)
* Barney Farms Blue Cheee or Nirvana Master Kush...undecided between these two.:cry:
* DNA Kushberry
* Seedism Diesel
* Seirous Seeds White Russian
soil grow(fox farms ocean forest)Also not sure which brand of nutes...unless someone can suggest a good hydro system(aero,bubble,dwc..etc. open to any suggestion)
400w hps/mh will switch when time to flower
Does anyone kno if a 3x3 grow tent will fit in a apt closet and suffice with the pots lights and fan.(I will be using a regular ol'fan for ventilation.several if need be.
Im looking to veg for four weeks, and flower 8-10 weeks, i kno each strain may be diffrent. Im not so much worried about a huge yield,ideally id like a decent amount from each plant,but im more lookin forward to having a variety...since variety is the spice of life right?
Im also considering seltzer water for co2 source or mayb yeast and sugar.
any input is welcomed.:joint:

1) For your light I suggest getting a 400w HPS ballast and bulb combo and buying an individual CMH bulb. Cermic Metal Hallide(CMH) bulbs have a better spectrum than MH bulbs and run in magnetic core HPS ballasts.

2) Rather than getting a simple soil and adding nutes during the grow, I suggest following a complete soil recipe that will allow you to just add water for the remainder of the grow. I would get a very small bag of plain soil for the first 7 to 10 days from seed. After that mix into a complete soil mix and you are all set. You won't have to measure nutes again, no PH, nothing but adding water.

3) If you put a 400w light in a closet you are going to have heat issues. Especially using "regular old fans" which are what? Box fans, pole fans?

4) Make sure you get some awesome carbon scrubber, diesel, cheese, and white russian are all notoriously stinky plants.

1) does this cmh bulb run through both cycles? and i will be getting a digital ballast.
2)do you suggest a certain soil mix recipe
3) do you have any ideas for ventilation?

CMH doesn't run on digital, so you'll have to go with something else. CMH can be used all the way through flowering. I use a CMH and HPS combo.

I use the moonshine soil mix, which is a simple recipe:

1 bag of FF Light warrior
1 bag of FF Ocean Forrest
1 bag of Planting Mix
1 cup of FF Fruit and Flower mix
10 quarts of big and chunky perlite

Once your plants are 7 to 10 days old just transplant them to the soil and add water all the way through flower. When you are done recycle the soil through a worm composting bin. It will improve the structure of the soil for your second grow.

You are going to need a fan and an aircooled hood to keep that cool. On top of that you are going to need to exhaust the hot air outside of the grow space.

I had some problems with my ventilation system. I was using a stand up fan that I thought was working, but it was not doing anything. I looked online for some real exhaust fans and I found a really good one, the TT100(4 inch) that I bought online from directfans.com. It is a quiet and inexpensive fan. When I got the fan, it was actually very good quality. They also have a larger model, the TT150(6 inch) that exhausts more air for larger areas. This solved my ventilation problem. Hope this helps!
