Need dark container for Flower stage

Hi folks. I have a plant that is about ready for the flower stage, but only one closet and I have two other smaller plants started later.

I was thinking that at last resort, couldn't I buy a large trash can with lid and set my plant in it for 12 hours a day? I heard that in the dark the plant doesn't use Co2, would this be unhealthy and hurt the flowering stage? I could set it back under my lights for the other `12 hours. To sum up my question, as long as there is no light, would my can need to be ventilated for the 12 dark Hours? I will eventually build a grow box with stacked storage bins and mount lights in the top, but for now, I need someplace dark to start my flowering stage, so I figured that instead of turning my lights on and off every 12 hours and hurting my other small plants, I could just move the one that needs to be in the dark to a dark place. The trash can would fit in the other door of my closet with no problem. Seems like i should be able to mount lights in the lid of a trash can and make a cool grow box out of one, anyone done this?

Darn, no one can tell me ifa simple dark garbage can is suitable for flowering? I am a guitar player for a living and I have a gator brand amp case. Just a minute ago (11:00am) I put my plant in it and zipped the lid shut. It should be nice and dark in there. Surely there will be a enough air to satisfy the plant for 12 hours at a time in there. Tonight at 11:00, back to the closet with the lights. I will simply tie the tops over to keep it from getting too high. Problem is, I need the amp case so I can set my Rack on it to practice, so I will have to clean the other side of my closet out and get a garbage can to do this in. I'll report back.

Anything that will darken/block out ALL of the light will work to induce flower.

the trick will be to be consistent in covering it EVERY night.

That's great news. I am lucky in that my closet is wide and has to independant doors. I only have the one side with the light cleaned out. The entire thing was full with junk and with boxes from Ebay stuff I had bought. Thinking about this, the interior of a garbage can would be far larger than my amp case. I saw one for 15 dollars yesterday at Dollar Geberalk store and it was the square kind with the wheels, not the round kind. I should be able to fit two pots in there. I just need to make sure it is dark and light proof with the lid on. Now, I am thinking that I can mount some lights in the lid of another and cut some vents in it and I would have one for veg with lights on and one for the dark in flower mode. I could just move my plants from one to the other when need be. Not as convenient as turning a switch for the lights, but it is nice in that I won't have any work to do to the one can that's just used for dark 12 hours. Just a can and lid should be all I need for that part.
