Need Advice First Hydro Attempt

Hey guys , I would like to ask you all a few questions. I am going to give my shot at hydro, and I dont want to waste my money on a BS setup or nutes. Please guide me along my way! This is my idea:

1000 watt HPS Air cooled hood
25 clones in grodan grow blocks on a table
My plan is to buy a 50-100 gallon resevoir and mix my nutes and fix the PH and buy a pump and pump the water into the table and flood the table
How do I hook a carbon filter up? I plan on running cool air in from the bottom and running the cool air to the light . Do I just set the filter in the tent and turn it on?
I plan on venting the hot air out of the top but I cant have it reaking .

This is my question , is the General Hydroponics line the best line to use for Grodan blocks? Also could you link me to a thread with info on GH nutes and MJ?
I cant find any Grodan block hydro grows on here, anybody used to it?
My plan is to aim for 20-28 gram plants and average over a pound

I need cloning advice , and advice on good cannabis clubs to aquire seeds from? particularly I want Gage green groups seeds or TGA gear.
I plan on starting a 10 pack of hopefully a few different strains I aquire from a club or good site and clone off of the females
Im gonna build a smaller grow box with t5's
Do I set my cloner box under the t5's under 18\6 after ive soaked my cubes in the clone solution , and cut my clones?

If you could answer some of my Q's id be so happy! Thanks

I use General Hydroponics Flora Series and I'm sure it's probably not the "best" nute out on the market it's always served me well in rockwool cubes and now coco.
with coco I also use cal-mag also it's needed...
If your goal is only 20 to 28 grams a plant hell you could use anything, that's really not much of a goal even for a short low yielding strain..

I been running the hell outta some gh flora series since 1998 when I started hydro. Before that I was soil growing.

GH rocks. Don't let fancy labels and hype get you. Most any nutrient line will work if used correctly.

Is my setup a good one though? I want to bassicly have a perfect setup before I turn on any lights so any help would be appreciated

This is how I set up my room. Carbon filter at the top attached to an in-line fan (6") which then air cools the bulb inside the reflector and shoots it out the tent on the other side. You can see in the other picture the air intake on the bottom left of the tent. I run a 600 watt bulb in a 4x4 tent which is plenty, don't know what size room you're working with but if it's a tent like mine 600 is all you'll need.

I seem to be misunderstanding you a little are you gonna run a sea of green with several tables, or just one table and run digferent strains under one light on one table? Anyways the man that you need to talk to if he'll be kind enough to answer all your questions is Al B Fuct.. he is who you wanna speak with. Read all of his stuff on this hydro forumn b/c his grows are pretty legit. Your goal is acheivable, but remember a 1000w bulb like any other bulb is only going to give you a certain amount of finished product wether you have 1 plant or 25 plants. The watts, not the number of plants. Since its your first hydro grow say 1/2 a gram per watt and make that your goal to start with which still puts you almost 2 oz's over your goal of a pound anyways. All that to say talk to Al B Fuct..

Sorry the most popular seedbank is attitude seed bank. I have used them twice and had no problems either time.order more than one of each seed you want tho b/c I got a crushed godbud seed, but they are totaly legit. Like provolone said with the nutes don't go for the most fancy product b/c they all have pretty much the exact same things in them. Go on youtube and watch a cloning video. cloning which really is an art form unto itself takes repitition to learn, but you will also find hydro takes experience to get better at. Most new hydro growers make the mistake of wanting to do too much and as a result they mess things up. Whatever nutes you use start half or even a third and LISTEN to what the plants tell you. Check your ppms and ph daily to start. It would work out a lot better for you if you just ran one strain to start for your first hydro grow b/c sone are gonna want more nutes than others so some are either gonna get burned or have dericiencies. Don't set your self up to fail man. Find and easy to grow yet great strain that you love and just grow that strain. There are just soo many things that can go wrong with these big systems. It takes a lot of experience to dial it all in. Also you need to read every hydro book you can find and read every good thread you can find on here by the good experienced reputable growers. Don't read what nubes are doing as that won't help you. Good luck bro and welcome. There are a lot of great people here that will help you. If you let them...

Two tables, two 1kw lights, gh 3 part using either the lucas formula or the useless formula.

Hola, Parker. I run something similar to Dsa, but I wanted to add that extraction should really go outside the grow room itself, otherwise you'll be recirculating a good portion of the same air and your CO2 levels will become slightly depleted. I suck external air into a a grow space through my filter, through my cool tube, and then exhaust outside the grow space. I also only hook the filter up as I near flower. By the way, my filter is overkill, and I am running a 6 inch High Output CanFan through 6 inch ducting, so no reducers (again, overkill). I will also say that I have seen many ways to run filters and lights, and this is just one:

Good luck and peace.

I guess I should have clarified a bit more, my filter (6"x16" Phresh Filter), which is at the top of the tent sucking out the hot air, cools the bulb and then is conveyed out of the grow room and surrounding area completely by venting outside the house. This should only be done providing you have a good and reliable carbon filter so no odors can slip through potentially causing any issues.

Parker, I have seen grows using the large grodan blocks, they're pretty cool, as your plant grows and shoots roots through the bottom of whichever size block you're in (start with the smallest obviously) there's always another size larger that will accomodate the smaller blocks so you just plug it in and let it grow. That is except for the very large ones which i think you have to stack. I do DWC and am super happy with that, I think as far as size and yeild goes it's hard to measure up to a properly done DWC. If you have any interest in DWC message me and I'll give you the run down on how I set up my system. One thing you're definitely gonna need if you're looking to get into hyro seriously is a constant read meter to keep track of your pH, ppm/EC, and water temp. I use the nutra-dip tri-meter which cost me around $165 and gives constant read-out of all three, pH, ppm, and temp. I can't state how important it is to have one of these devices. Rule number one for making sure you have a successful harvest, keep that pH in check! Just a few points off and you're girls are not gonna be happy. I use Advanced Nutrients for my grows, which a lot of people really shit all over, say they're too expensive, blah blah, I get great results with their sensi grow A & B, connoisseur, big bud, bud candy, overdrive, and a little voodoo juice thrown in there to keep the roots happy. So that being said, the sensi grow (veg nutrients) and the connoisseur (bloom nutrients) are all supposed to be pH perfect, meaning they will self adjust the pH of the nutrient solution to optimal levels. I like to keep my pH at 5.7-5.8 at all times so I find myself adjusting every few days or so, but it's really no big deal, just a dash of pH down or up and you're good to go. Anyway, don't know where you're planning on picking on all your gear but I've found that plantlightinghydroponics.com is the absolute best place to pick stuff up, great prices and quick discrete shipping, check it out, they've got literally everything you could ever need. Oh and if you're looking for a good reflector, check out the hydrofarm raptors, they provide a huge footprint and are super well built. Good luck and have a blast setting up your environment!

I use gh nutes and they have worked quite well for me so far and they aren't overly priced. Flood and drain isn't too hard, I use hydroton in a 3x3 tray with a 45 gallon res and a 4x4 tent. If your going with about the same size tent a 600 watter is all you would need. Here's a few shots of the res/table. The third pic is just before I flipped to flower.
