I'd like to know the answer to this...new grower but ive never heard of these hairy nanners b4
Yeah I was definitely blazed, and deep in a wormhole about the hairy things at the ends.
Hence posting in noob section.
I've got 1 that's got some bud
I see female plants with calyx’s swollen and pistils pushing out.
Thank you for the information.
I knew I'd had read something to that....its been an overload of info for an ol sob

You need some help getting rid of fungus gnats? Looks like you have a pretty active infestation going on. If you do get some of this stuffIMG_20230424_203843208.jpg

It's on Amazon and it will kill off the larvae but you need some yellow sticky traps near the soil to catch the adult fliers. Leaving water in the catch pans is a bad idea as well. If you're still fighting them then this will stop them in a few weeks. Super easy to use also.

Don't feel bad. I tossed three plants out in flower when I started because I thought they were hermaphrodites as well. It was just the swollen calyxes at the branch intersection but I had no forum to tell me that. Plant part identification will come as you see the names repeated. Good luck with your grow!

Dam.. Good eye... Yes been fighting them for the past month. Tried cinnamon, Vinagar traps, sticky traps like crazy. And started spritzin with hydrogen peroxide mix.. Didn't want to do a full flush with it being in organic with Gaia... Correct?
Yellow sticky cars on order.
I'll see if that's available in Canada. Cheers

Oh man... And of course a search by my lazy ass might of found it out.
With the bud sites so airy, should I even bother?
Because I could chop it and give more rent space to my prize 1st timer plant?

If not any brand of BTI will work. It's a bacteria that infects the larvae causing them to starve. It takes a couple weeks to totally break the cycle if they are bad but stick with it every watering and keep it dry around the pots and you'll be fine. I'm up in the mountains surrounded by woods and they get in everytime I open the door it seems so I'm always seeing a couple. They're not too harmful unless they get out of control but they're freaking annoying as hell :bigjoint:

It looks like it's still early into mid flower so it should bulk up considerably before it's ready to harvest. What strain is it? I wouldn't chop a healthy budding plant unless it mutated. You'll gain good experience with it cutting, drying and curing the buds from it that will help you with the other plant as well.

Will do, my only regret is not picking this hobby up sooner.
It's called sugar diesel from Ancestryal seeds.
From my local gov't dispensary

I'm in my 50s and started in my late 40s. I have a lot of forum buddies that are well into their 60s and 70s. Read as much as you can and take notes on what you do to help you stay organized and look back on for helpful information as you go. There's a bunch of folks on here from the Great White North so you'll feel right at home. It is bring your own poutine though :bigjoint:

It's been a great ride the last 2 months, not a bad mid life crisis helper.
Unfortunately 30+ years of boozabuse got in the way, but 4 yrs without a drop and I'm loving life the best I can.
RIU has definitely been a God send. Along with that search bar/rabit hole page
Thanks for the advice m8

I had a batch or two of this that didn’t seem effective against gnats. I ended up going back to the mosquito bits and a paint strainer as needed in my waterings.

Paint strainer?
Is this what I would need against the gnats?

I was using the Microbe Lift BTI but wasn’t getting consistent results.
I went back to BTi mosquito bits.
The paint strainers is to soak the bits in the water prior to use and discard the bits so I don’t water them into the medium. Although you could if you wanted.2F7E884C-7C1A-4764-B954-1E591165311A.jpeg41E57037-76C7-45AC-80D0-9FA9C0C4891B.jpeg

I know you mentioned using it already but cinnamon works very well but you have to scratch it in then top again. This will kill adults and larvae and you can water over it and your roots will love it..

most importantly have you discovered the cause? over watering? sitting water? something in the grow space not related to the plants? attack there for maximum efficiency

Im pretty sure they came in with my compost. Got it from Canadian tire but it was stored outdoors.
That's the only thing I can think of.. Everything else was from my hydro store, stored inside.
I can get this via Amazon.
I'll have to check with my hydro store to see if they have the pellets.
I think of I break these up and let it soak I water, it's the same?
As the above mentioned
