n00b question about mother plants

hi,

when i take a clone from a mother plant, does the place where i cut off grow right back? the clone i took was a big one and i cut it right at the main stem of the mother plant and its been a week or so and i see no signs of the cut off part growing back

the stem you cut off will no longer grow, your plant will be more encouraged to grow elsewhere. pretty sure thats right

If you cut at the stem then that branch will no longer grow. I suggest cutting at least passed one node away from the stem that way the node where you cut close to will grow just like when you top your girls. No new growth appears from were the cut was made, usually.
