My soil smells like sweaty nasty feet

I hope it's not mold but I don't see any so I don't think thats the problem. I have had some gnat issues but keep them under control by constantly killing and trapping them, so anyway the soil smells funny it started about 2 days ago, 6 days ago I gave them caterpillar killer with the watering then I waited until they were almost dry about 3 days later then watered again with nutes, then when I went in there a couple days ago and it smelled like feet in the room so I was sniffing around and found the soil is the culprit, has anyone had this problem and know a quick fix?

It kills the larvae and eggs the gnats lay in the soil so they don't eat the roots, got it at my local grow shop the guy there told me it was good stuff but you have to use it every week or 2 if you have a bad infestation, luckily I don't so I only used it the once and the problem seems to be gone, I also use sticky fly sticks they have little saucers on the ends so you can lay them on the soil without the sticky part touching the soil and since this is where the gnats like to hang out I've pretty much got them all then killed their babies with caterpillar killer, I'm a monster:blsmoke:
