My new Vero 29!

Ok so I am jumping the gun just a little bit, but hey I am excited, this has been a long time coming.

So I bought a Vero 29 and an LED driver from Digikey.com. I was going to go with an ebay power supply but if it doesn't work or I get the wrong one dealing with china is a headache, lesson learned from building my two other leds.

This is the 90cri+ version of the 4000k. The reason I went with a 4000k is it pretty much covers the whole spectrum pretty well, that 90cri really pushes it into the blues and reds perfectly.

And it will be heatsink expoyed to this Cool Master Hyper 212 EVO

But again jumping the gun since it hasn't come in the mail yet.

Oh and this is going to be supplemental lighting to my PAR-200-PRO indagro.

I will take pictures of the unpacking and assembly so others can check it out. This pretty much is going to be the future of small grows. Costs about $150 to make one of these.

I am only going to run 39.4v @ 2.1 amps for a few reasons. One is appreciable gains. I use an led and indagro because I want efficency. My area is in an attic so heat is kind of an issue with hids. 2.1 amps is when its producing the most lumens and the least heat for appreciable gains.

Two my goal is have my whole grow under 500 watts. I want to see what you can make under 500 watts. (Sorry hps guys a 400w hps + ballast loss + fan is going to be over 500w's). Plus eletricity here is .28c/kwh which hurts bad.

28w 630nm + 460nm cree (ebay pos)

48w 660nm + 430nm + 10,000K (ebay cob thing)

215 watt Indagro PAR-200-PRO

100w 6 inch inline fan

95w Vero 29 40G 4000k 90+CRI

5w my cpu fans...

491 watts.

  1. Three. Dont tell anyone.... but it was the cheapest non ebay pos driver and a warrenty. So 2.1 amps is all it had.

I hear ya man on all points. 2.1amps is plenty, should pump out a very respectable amount of light. I am only running my cxa3070s at 1.4amps each so I hear your reasoning and understand the efficiency aspect. Sounds like you have things under control.

I am also going to be running a very efficent setup with these new COBs but I wont hijack your thread with details lol.

Ok so... the vero 29 gets hot... my indagro lets me do 4 to 5 degrees over ambient... with the vero on it jumps as high was 11 over ambient. So be for warned even at 2.1 amps they put off some heat
