My Grow Room Design Question(s).

Sorry I dont have pictures YET. But i've already built a shed 250ft away from the house. And I do have a tight budget. 80% of the shed is completely sealed. The door is a little bit loose, but nothing i can do about it. Heres the thing though, the top part of the walls of the shed are perforated. Meaning its a kind of plywood they make that has tiny holes in it. There are two panels of this on each side of the upper part of the shed. I thought this would be a good idea for air flow so I wouldnt have to spend money on fans. (besides a fan for the plants). Since heat rises the heat will easily leave, and my plants will still catch the breeze and air will have a great circulation.

Thats what i thought, but i was seeing if i might be wrong. Is it better to have it air tight and have a legit duct system and intake and exhaust thing set up? Or is this Ok? Am I endangering my plants to mold doing it this way?

I was thinking I might be able to cover the perforated boards with a breathable material to still allow air circulation, but restrict harmfuls from comeing thru like blowing rain, or bugs, or whatever might come thru. Thanks ahead of time.

If your going thru all the trouble to build an out building as a grow room you should seal it and make it air tight for several reasons. First of all you will have to contend with high moisture and humidity issues which will eventually lead to mold and mildew problems. Next you will have an odor problem because there is no way to scrub the air inside because it will be leeching thru the perforated plywood. And believe me, that smell can travel. Next problem is going to control pests like spider mites,aphids moths ect. They will find a way in if it is not air tight. Not saying that they won't get into a sealed environment but it would be really difficult. Next is that you would not be able to utilize co2 if you so desired because the cross ventilation would suck it out. There is probably a few more issues but these are the main ones...jmo
