My girlfriend ate a dog....

I just found out that my girlfriend ate a dog in Mexico.... I'm shocked and I don't know why lol. I mean we eat cows, pigs (babe), chickens, geese, ducks, deer(Bambi), birds, bear(little bear and whinnie the pooh), everything... So why am I so shocked that she ate a dog? I look at my dog then at my girls stomach and just feel sad for the dog she ate.

I do not mean to offend anyone.

How many of you guys have eaten dog?

And I'm positive I'm overreacting, am I correct?

I'm not gonna leave her because of that (that would be stupid), but I just can't stop feeling strange about the situation.

Have you asked her what it tastes like..? I've been curious what it tastes like for ages... I've had some people tell me that it tastes similar to goat... Can you ask her what it tasted like for me..?

i once ate a dog in vietnam, thought it was beef, sorta tasted like it too, but there was a lot of spice and fryup, so

lol, well i had 2 bites, like i said,i thought it was beef but thought it tasted bit different so asked, yup, dog. had to take another bite but didnt want to eat any more (not the taste, just too many past buddies)

but my bro ate dog at some other place over there and he thought it tasted yucky and not like beef at all, but like i said, mine was a big spice and fry job, his was boiled or something.

I'd eat chihuahua or shitzu etc... something that isn't a real dog...

She told me that she ate a dog and my face just looked shocked so she got pissed and went to the room lol. I went in there and told her what was going on and she started playing the silence game. I tried going along and asked her how it tasted and she just looked away. Aww she's so cute right now, she'll calm down in a little while. So the question still remains a mystery for the both of us.

Lambs Brains... are probably the weirdest thing I've ever eaten...

The flavour and texture is just like overcooked Cauliflower...

You don't seem to be over reacting at all... It is something you probably had never considered anyone around you ever doing and sounds like something you yourself wouldn't do... If you've had great dogs as pets before it is most likely going to disturb you thinking about someone eating them...

Although the thing to remember is that most dogs that are used for human consumption were never pets to begin with...

boiled sheeps head (wool burned off with a flamethrower)

among some other things, the shark actually tastes best out of these. (though its better with a shot of potatobooze (called black death))

If it is not morally wrong to eat a dog then why isn't it socially moral to eat other humans? I understand this question is a bit over the top (or is it?) but still....

I think I just feel like a dick since I made her sad/mad about something that I shouldn't have been so shocked about. I'm just trying to find a way to get over this, it's kinda hard for me though.

i do consider animals being the same as humans. their death as sad.

still do eat a few animals.

(dunno why, but since 3 i can only eat mostly meat, just dont feel nourished without it and most vegetables just make me puke)

but its like this, most animals (including alot of humans)

given the chance , will just eat and breed themselves into starvation.

predators are there for a reason. (its why some humans are predators (our society hasnt evolved above other animals (we are too stupid to control ourselves so nature does it with disease and stuff, but mostly other humans (sociopaths and whatnot))

Look up "Mexican Hairless Dog". The natives used to eat it all the time. I had a platter of tacos down in Mexico made with a Mexican Hairless Dog cross breed. Pretty tasty. The taste was almost completely unique.

So if cannibalism wasn't illegal, would it be wrong of me to ditch her because she ate another human? <<<< hypothetically speaking lol....

If you feel that strongly about her eating dog I'm not sure the relationship will last...
