My ghetto grow/rescue mission...

How's it going out there everyone. This is an account of my first experience growing this great gift of god. I have been kinda slow in starting this journal, because I have not had much time. Now, I can bring you up to speed, with pics!

This plant was given to me in a mysterious way. Around late April, one of my roommates brought to my attention a funny-looking little plant growing in our window-box outside of our kitchen window. "Is that what I think it is?" he asked. And, after many hours spent scouring this website, I concluded that it was indeed what we thought it was. As elated as I was upon this discovery, there remained two problems. What do we do with it now, and how the hell did it get here ? Keep in mind, this window box faces the street, not the backyard, so it couldn't stay in its current place.

Since I knew that I wouldn't ever know the answer to number two, I proceeded to take care of number one. One 5-gallon bucket, bag of potting soil, cheap 40w fluoro T12 I had sitting around the house, and a stealthy late night transplant later and Voila! We now have a healthy vegging plant and a ghetto grow!

*EDIT* I'd love to hear any comments you guys have on this, but keep in mind that I did not start this grow with any kind of serious production in mind. My situation is not really one where I could invest financially at all for this, so it's more of just a hobby and for fun instead of looking for massive yield. I know if I had the money and whatnot I could go get a 1000w HPS and grow tent and thermometer and etc. etc., but it's just not where I'm at right now. Oh, and good vibes will be returned immediately upon reception, guaranteed, no questions asked :)

Well, here is the next few weeks in this little miracle's life. Kept the fluoro on 18/6 and just let her do her thing for a few weeks. She started to get so pretty, and I was convinced it was gonna be a lady. First pic is probably 1-2 weeks after transplant, and the second is probably a week/ week.5 after that. The second pic to me has always just looked female, hard to describe, but just looks like a pinup model with her hands in the air or something. I'm weird, I know.

After about 4-5 weeks vegging under 18/6, I decided to flower because I was afraid of it getting too tall. Plus, I had visual confirmation of some gorgeous white hairs starting to show! So I switched the timer on a Friday, left for the weekend, came back Monday and BAM! saw a huge growth increase(Pics 3 and 4 when its @3 days flowering). This baby just bulked up! A week or so later I decided to build a reflector out of a cardboard six-pack box and an emergency blanket to give it a little more juice from the light. For reference, note in pic 5 where the height of the plant is relative to the reflector.

Stay tuned, more to come!
