Hey whats up. First for my friend to grow and has minimal experience in gardening/botany, but he is under a budget among other things. He knows people who have done a lot research, past first growers, and veterans might disagree with some of my friend's choices for doing something in a particular way, but I promise he has his reasons. My friends wanted to see about the supplies that he has, the capability of it working, and what to do for the highest possible yield. My friend's setup room is approx. 3x2x5.
My friend already placed 6 2.5g-4g pots in the space and they fit perfectly, one directly aligned with the others, all in a tight fit in the covering the bottom floor room space. So 6 is possible, is this too many for a friend's first grow? They will not be spaced out.
My friend bought Scott's Hyponex with .7% nitrogen feeding for 4 months. He know this is not the best medium and that there are better options out there, but he had his reasons. The only other choice he had was earth gro organic brand and mixing the potting soil and its steel manure blend to form a nice medium. Now, looking back this probably would have been a better option, but it wasn't the option he chose. He also has tomato plant food for nutrients. I know there are better options out there, but this is what he got. From what I read these options will work just fine.
Now for the lighting he did this pretty unconventionally for reasons that are known to him. All that will be used is cfl lighting but a lot of them.
He has 4 cfl lights that are screwed on the ceiling. They are at 4200k and about 1k lumens per. My friend has realized they aren't going to be doing much but a little contribution to veg, but hes not wasting them.
Per plant said friend has 6 pulley cfl lights to adapt with growth making 18 total. Each light is at 30 watts, 125 watt eq at 2700k at 2000 lumens each. Theres a bar that goes across the room and the pulleys will be attached to this. 7 all together. The last one, in the center, will be one 125w eq 1000w, 2700k, 10,000 lumens. This will be raised up down during growth.
He plans on using all 2700k lighting all at once from veg to flower just relying on the light cycles. Does less lighting on the veg and then adding more lights on the flower, all 2700k, have a positive effect on yield or potency?
He won't have any fans in the room since there will not be any room. He will be opening and closing the door to the room very frequently.
He is not painting the walls or putting anything on them.
My friend is worried about the humidity. The mean humidity to the outdoors, yes this will be indoors (but that you have an idea),
is normally 90%. This is very high and won't be a problem during veg state but during close to harvest on the flower there might be problems that arise. Getting dehumidifier is out of the question, anything that can be done about this? The seeds are mold resistant seed but will that really help the buds or just during veg state?
The seeds are high yield, indica dominant.
Most everything else will be technique and this about covers it for his design room. Everything should work just fine from the information given right?
Thanks.
