My first grow is going swell!

I had taken over my buddies girls in november and they were almost dead. But after some love and water they bounced back to life! I've also gotten some new seeds started and taken some clones from the Hollister Kush that are now flowering (about 2 weeks into flower). The seeds I bought are Dankenberry kush and Enzo kush. I also had just some bag seeds from this bomb ass bubba kush so I decided to see what would come of those. And yess I know one of the clones looks a little fucked up but I think that one may be getting taken out lol Here's some pictures of the babes :) any feed back would be greatly appreciated!

My suggestion/complaint/observation: Why do so many here not fill their pots up with soil? Afraid of wasting it? What? That area from the top of the soil to the top of the pot is now filled with dead, dark, damp air- a perfect place for bugs and molds. I don't get it.

Another suggestion: Those white pots probably aren't light-proof, and roots don't like light. A cheap fix would be to wrap them in aluminum foil.

Looks like it is going to be a kick-ass grow. All those plants, you could easily get a kilo.

Thank you for the tips, the bottom plants were filled all the way up but after watering they had sunken down ill add some more soil to top them off. I never really thought about how the air would just be stagnant. And the white pots were all the hydro store had at the time in square pots and I needed to transplant that day. Im only in a 4x4 so I didn't wanna get round black ones again. Thanks for the tips ill use those to help me now and in my coming grows!

Yeah, the square ones look like they save space.
I went to a grow shop. They acted snooty and their prices were embarrassing. I do all my grow shopping at WalMart and Homedepot and Dollar Stores. Like what did you pay for those pots? I got 3 gallon trash cans for a buck each, and melted holes in the bottom with a hot screwdriver. After I'm done, they make swell waste baskets around the house.

One other thing about grow stores; I am afraid of spider mites. And I just think there are many growers who show up at grow stores looking for a cure that they bring them in the store and they might hitch a ride home with me. I shower after I go to the nursery, or visit someone else's grow.

I paid about 1.25 per pot which isn't bad at all. I know some of the people that work there so I kinda get deals and free nuts that i use and stuff. And yeah I just use the aza Max's for any bugs I get. I clean everything after I go into my garden. I'm excites in about 2 weeks into flower and I can start to smell the lovely smell lol
