My Feelings On Illegal Immigration, Do They Make Me a Hypocrite?

Ok, so, I am a white girl. In California... so obviously my friends are not all white. And that doesnt bug me. They are my friends because they are good people I like to be around. A good percentage of my friends are Mexican. Again, not a problem... its just I get the evil eye every time I say I dont support illegal immigration. They all get mad, say it's racist and blah blah blah, and cause im white I dont understand. A good portion of my mexican friends wouldnt be here unless their parents hadnt been illegal immigrants, or if they werent illegal themselves... but how can I support something that I feel is wrong and detrimental to society? Am I supposed to bow my head and accept it? I have no problem at all with regulated immigration, just illegal immigration leaves a bad taste in my mouth... they drain our system.

They get welfare, free lunch at school, wic, food stamps... and if the dream act passes, a nice american college education. Shit they can even qualify for scholarships... its fucked up. but yet when I think of my friends, I get guilty for feeling the way I do. And I know they do the jobs that most people dont want to do, but honestly if you're in a situation where that is your only option, take the damn job and don't look down on the mexicans working with you.

Basically this comes down to personal responsibility in my eyes. You know how many kids I went to school with thought that they should have it easier because they were mexican and "oppressed"?

haha actually i need to go pick up an application at blockbuster, just my skin condition kinda flared up today and i was ashamed to leave the house, but my whole little vent wasnt about jobs, it was about people breaking the law and being rewarded for it

if they all get deported, what are we supposed to do about eating mexican food?

i don't think you're a hypocrite, you're just being utilitarian about what is best fo rthe country. people working and not paying taxes doesn't benefit the greater good. people using clinics and popping out kids who use our education system but never paying a penny into the system is a drain. i do'nt like it but i would love to leave this country and i would do it if i had to haha.

I really don't mind the ones that come here and learn how speek english work and raise a good famlie, and pay taxes.
The ones that I wouldn't care if they were shot on site are the Gang Banngers and drug addicts.

what annoys me is people who expect everything to be in spanish. i am sick of all the spanish messages on phones, the spanish interpreter in court, learn english if you're living in the USA!
