I pulled .5 grams per watt and then another .5 grams per watt 4 weeks later so I thought I would detail my strategy.
I top the plant at the 6th-7th node. I've found a 2nd topping is optional using a screen. Upper branches are trained out so the lower branches catch up. This continues into the 2nd week off flower. I end up with around 4 tops per square foot. Any time during the first 2 weeks of flower I may again top a branch to slow it's growth. This gives me a very even canopy usually 2-2.5 feet above the screen. Keep in mind other than the original topping and the other 'above screen' toppings nothing else is removed, no braches or leaves. During flower, bud growth is restricted to the top 2 feet of depth. At harvest I trim everything down to the screen. This gives me another level canopy ready to be flowered for another 4 weeks and I pull the same yield.
I think this produces the best yield in the time frame involved.
