Been a gardener for as long as i can remember.. Started when i was like 13 (34 now) years old raising a garden every year. Before then it was like every other year when PawPaw would till up me a small spot and he would pick me out some easy stuff to grow..

This is what i have planted this year... Not everything is pictured and has grown a lot since i took them.. Corn is about head high now. Having Problems with deer again this year.

Silver Queen Corn
Green, Red, Orange and Yellow Bell Peppers
Banana Peppers
Cherokee Purple Tomatoes
Pink Brandywine Tomatoes
Beefsteak Tomatoes
Big Boy Tomatoes
Dixie Speckled Butter Peas
White whippoorwill Cowpea
Blue Lake Beans
Potatoes (red)
Moon and Stars Yellow Watermelon
Healy's Pride Melon
Carrots
Onions

Didn't plant Okra or squash this year because i still have a freezer full. Actually my garden is pretty small this year compared to other years.

Have you grown thw moon and stars melon before? Looks so crazy but taste so good.

Nope. First time growing the moon and stars variety. Every year i grow a watermelon that we call "Pugs Orange Watermelon" It's not the real name. This was the watermelon seeds we got from a close relative that died several years ago out of the last crop of watermelons he grew before he died the following year, and we labeled the bag "Pugs Orange Watermelon". The real name is unknown to us. He always saved seeds from the prettiest, biggest and best tasting watermelons from the crop. He was very selective of the seeds he saved.

Very nice garden. One ?, in the summer does the black heat up the ground to much ?
Thanks, yours looks great !
